I must say i am a lucky and hard working girl.I finished my Bsc dec 2014,took my cert 2015.I got a job after an interview with an electricity distribution company in 2016 with the help of my aunt who happens to have the power as the HR.Am not upto 6months in the company.Which is the due time for our comfirmation. Now,i have another job offer from a commercial bank in Nigeria to be paid up to 80k.Now am confused cos i have alot of plans i need money to execute.Working in a financial institution will hasten my plans of travelling out of the country with work permit as an accountant. It will also get me more experience. Leaving this current job that pays lesser,my aunt's dissappointment, and the pressure employees of commercial banks faces recently is worrying.Although my aunt promised me a better position with accounting dept after 6months.I need constuctive advice.I dont want to make mistake thinking am wise.

Maybe if you answer this question: where do you see yourself in 5 years? You'd be able to decide which of the job aligns with your long term plans.

My advice is limited to the infos u posted
Firstly,
1. The bank S is higher than ur current S
2. The bank will hasten ur plans of traveling out of the country
3. The bank would give u more experience compare to ur current place of work
But,
1. Which is more sustainable?, considering the way bank re trench staff at the slightest downturn
2. Do u know the opportunity ur current place will bring when u get promoted in 6months time to the accnt dpment in comparison with where u wnt to go
3. Will the salary u get after d 6months promotion equate or beat the 80k?
Be patient my dear, ponder over this advice of mine and ASK BABA GOD, because *mAN propose GOD dispose*.................. #OnlyGodKnowsAll

How will d bank hasten ur travel out plans dear? Or do u mean financially?

And if d salary u are being offered at the bank is 80k them its most likely a contract job. I could be wrong

However, from the info you have given, ur present job seems more attractive in terms of security( and the presence of ur aunt wink). Besides you are still a dtarter, your present pay is not that bad. You could grow there faster.

Keep your eyes open

Goodluck

You think banking sector is the best place Trust me you won't sail very well because lot of pressure everyday you may likely got to work on a Saturday. its depends in the position you hold, seriously you won't have time for yourself even too cook personal food wey you go eat na wahala before you close for the day, get home, bathe, eat, wash your plate, no time again before you open eyes again dey Don break!!! it your choice anyways life is all about risk

I believe that if you understand the magnitude of the risk you want to take now, you will back out. The bank job is enticing with just a minor salary difference but have you considered the pressure of meeting up with targets, late night working, using your salary to cover up for any loss as a front desk officer (cashier at the counter) etc. I will advise that you dont look at the supposed blissful life of bankers, get closer to them to know their pains. If you do, you will not jump the gun. Finally, think of job security. I believe with your aunt as HR, your job at the electricity company is more secured. However, the final decision lies with you.

Hello dear, I would advice you just stay with your current job...

Like someone rightly said, even the bank needs electricity...

Your aunt's presence there is a significant assurance of job security...

It's your aunt that got you the job, she won't allow you lose it...

And the year is just starting, once banks start checking their financial books of the first quarter, retrenchment don start be that...

80k ain't enough motivation for the kinda risk you wanna take...
