Why taken the burden

I realise the scammer that duped me have con many in the past and he is probably duping another gentle guy from our member right now. So, as a humanitarian, I have decided to take a time out of my busy schedule to share this information. Perhaps with time, most of our members would be saved from scammers trick.

What you should know

1. There are trusted xchangers in various business threads
2. There are thieves waiting for you to fall to their trick and do a way with your hard earned money

How to identify the trusted xchangers

1. There are people that have a great reputation in this business here. I will mention few. Knowing them is a step to avoid scammer

How to identify scam

1. A scammer don't usually write details such as number etc about themselves in their profile
2. They usually offer mouthwatery trade e.g selling bitcoin at 400/$
3. Their mobile number if typed on google brings out information different from what they tell you
4. Their profile is usually new
5. They usually have little or no posts
6. They are always in a hurry during transaction
7. They use different names and different accounts
8. Block your number immediately after you transfer money to them
9. They sometime come in the name of religion, calling themselves convenat child of God, commited muslim...blah..blah..blah
10. The greedy scammer engages in legit xchange for some period in order to earn your trust and burst you BIG

How to prevent yourself

1. Trade with trusted xchanger ONLY OR
2. Obtain as many vouch as possible before your deal OR
3. Use ESCROW incase you are trading with less trusted fellow
4. Research on identity of the fellow you want to trade with i.e don't rely 100% on my list - confirm my list from your little research

I just find it funny that someone created a list and included my name among scammers on. Nairaland. But all the same just the way I had a heated argument with one of the travel section mod's who I asked to show evidence of payment made to me or my asking of money to be sent to me, and he couldn't come up with anything other than myopic statements. So this is 2017, and I log into nairaland, see my user being mentioned among the "scammer" on nairaland. All good, I am waiting for the day my own cup will full and someone will bring their own evidence of sending money to me

I am a bit surprised because I spoke with the accused yesterday morning on different issues, only to see this.

I've known of ozor1's presence on Nland for a long time, done a few transactions with him. He's even done ebay checkouts for me in the past.

One thing I noticed is that he would not have the fund but will not say so. He'd then use your fund to get PayPal, and when PayPal wahala come catch am, problem go come dey. He's told me one time that he can't refund after he couldn't do what I wanted, lucky me, he did the job at another time.

There are a few of them I know always advertising PayPal funds when they don't have it, only to use your funds to get the PayPal and deliver to you. When PayPal gives them problem, na there wahala dey

Still baffles me that ozor1 would scam someone of around $250 or so.

It was single handed by me. Payment was sent to him from my own account and the client was buying PayPal from him. Total $700, and he kept giving empty promises for refunds. It's just a matter of time before he gets you too, you think if there is a dispute with the Ebay checkout and seller refunds him back the PayPal, you think you will get your refund? You are yet to enter his trap.

Scores of threads were created, accusations bandied around. Ogapatapata's pictures were circulated and parodied, his name turned into a Nairaland national anthem. A simple google search of his real names, Chimezie 'something something' immediately linked his name of SCAM and FRAUD!

His name had become so notorious on google, no thanks to Nairaland that he allegedly sponsored hackers to bring down Nairaland.

The Great Hack of June, 2014 will go down in the annals of infamy. Ogapatapata's hackers hacked NL and wiped it off google. The went to Nairaland's host server, wiped off the data and the back up data as well.

Luckily, _Seun had done a remote backup on Jan 10, 2014 so he was able to restore Nairaland but every data not backed up after Jan 10 was wiped off forever. If you do a search, you will notice that no Nairaland thread between Jan 11 2014 and June 2014 is on the Internet. It was wiped out by Ogapatapata's paid hacks.
