Ndidi Wins BBC MOTM Award, Earns Praises From Everton Legend For Stellar Display

Wilfred Ndidi has gotten his first recognition in English football after picking up the BBC Man of The Match award on his debut for Leicester City in their 2-1 FA Cup win over Everton.

BBC Radio Live anchor Matt Elliot announced the 20 year old Nigerian as the man of the match shortly after the game, as he was particularly impressed by the speed at which he integrated into the Leicester squad despite having just two training sessions before the game.

” He’s slotted in and looked very impressive”, he said and his view was accepted by callers during the show as well as pundits who also saw the game.

Former Everton forward Leon Osman who watched the game as an anchor for BBC as well was also impressed by Ndidi’s performance on his debut terming his display as superb.

” He did a real good job for a guy making his debut. He was superb, cool and very assured on the ball plus he covers lot of grounds. Am impressed”.

I didn't watch but followed on twitter. Every tweet about him showed he was impressive.

Leicester city plays Chelsea on Saturday (6:30pm) so that's a good game to show the world he is the even better than Kante (like Colin Udoh has always been saying).

HE'S LIKE A YOUNG VIERA - HOW LEICESTER CITY FANS REACTED TO NDID DEBUT ON TWITTER

Leicester City £15m January signing Wilfred Ndidi made his debut for the team in their 2-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup.

Ndidi was handed his first start by Manager Claudio Ranieri, despite the fact that he has only trained with the squad twice following the confirmation of his transfer from Genk of Belgium.

Owngoalnigeria.com bring to you the reactions of fans of the club on twitter after his debut for the team, who are hoping he will fill the void created by the departure of French midfielder N’golo Kante.

Arsenal Loanee Kelechi Nwakali On Target Again For Dutch Side

On loan Arsenal teen midfielder Kelechi Nwakali was among the goal scorers for his loan side MVV Maastricht in their first game of 2017 which they won 3-2 against Seraing of Belgium.

The 18 year old scored his first goal for the team in their penultimate game of last year, netting in the 2-0 win against De Graafschap, a result that keeps their promotion dreams alive.

Nwakali picked up from where he left off in 2016 when he fired in his side’s third goal from a quick counter attack with scores at 2-1 in favour of his side.

After giving his side a 3-1 lead, he wasted two good chances to kill the game off as a contest before the second division Belgian side reduced the deficit to end the tie at 3-2.

On a season long loan from Arsenal, he has so far made 11 appearances for promotion chasers MVV, where his performances have also earned him Man of The Match Award and rare reviews.

Super Eagles Defender Troost-Ekong Scores Own Goal In Debut Game For Gent

Super Eagles and Gent of Belgium defender William Troost-Ekong had an unofficial debut he won’t want to remember after scoring an own goal as his side fell 1-3 to Dutch side Willem II.

The Nigerian was handed a start by coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck in the friendly tie alongside two other Nigerians in Anderson Esiti and Rabiu Ibrahim.

Ekong’s afternoon was soiled when the 23 year old unfortunately diverted a harmless ball from Erik Falkenburg into his team’s net to give Willem II a 2-0 lead minutes into the second half.

He was substituted shortly afterwards with the coach keen on giving all of the players he has on the bench a run out ahead of the restart of the Belgian league.

Rabiu Ibrahim and Anderson Esiti were also substituted in the second half while Samuel Kalu made his debut following his move from AS Trencin. Meanwhile former Eagles forward Bartholomew Ogbeche was a second half substitute for Willem II.

Nigeria Have Stolen One Of Germany’s Brightest prospect In Fabian Senninger – German Journalist

Owngoalnigeria.com contact in Germany Roland Mark says Super Eagles latest addition Fabian Senninger will be a big loss to Germany in the future.

Fabian Senninger has pledged his international future to Nigeria ahead of Germany, the country of his birth and his father as he feels more at home with the national team of the country where his mother hails from.

Although he is virtually unknown to many in Germany, Mark reckons that he belongs to a class of upcoming talented defenders in the country.

” Nigeria have stolen one of Germany’s brightest prospect in defence. Senninger has all it takes to be a world class defender in a year or two.

” He recently joined Hannover 96 on a professional deal from Nike Academy, but before then am well aware that he had a short trial with Burnley”, Mark told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” He is very quick, can play as a right or left full back because he uses both feet correctly, he started off as a defensive midfielder, so he can also play there. He was by far the best player at the Nike Academy during his time there”.

I fear that they are quite young and untested. But the prospects they hold for the super eagles is actually tantalising.

Bournemouth Disappointed With £15m Jordon Ibe

Bournemouth Manager Eddie Howe has said the side are disappointed that £15m record signing Jordon Ibe has not been able to show the form that would give him a regular run in the side

Bournemouth signed the 20-year-old on a four-year contract from Liverpool for a club-record transfer fee, understood to be £15 million back in July

And the former Liverpool man who had been struggling for game time at Bournemouth was given another chance to stake his claim . . . http://www.soccerassembly.com/bournemouth-disappointed-15m-jordon-ibe/

yeah, Moses plays as if he has been a defender before!

A player can play any position. I started playing as a Center Back - #5. In those days, you can't cross. But at the U17 camp, the coach moved me #10, so I can control the game. But I played as a top 9 and scored a lot of goals in college, here in the States. So I have seen it all, and was able to fit in anywhere they want me to play.

Wow !!! I remember him Now last year Summer he was at Burnley FC, fast a good level of skill but I would not have classed him ready for Green Eagles at all.

He might not be ready yet but it will be good to secure him given his rumored potential. Iwobi was not ready when he was first invited. If he is ready in a year or 2, that will be great for Nigeria.

iwobi was doing now exactly what he is supposed to do..passing passing and passing...thats the work of a central midfielder....

holding out pressure from opponent's should be the more of the work of defensive milder which was xhaka and Ramsey..

the difference is that his passes were basic passes, not the kind that wows you. he was okay there, but he wasn't taking the risks that Ozil for example would take, he wasn't making the kind of passes that would leave you wondering if he played the ball with his feet or three it with his hands, he will get better though

But you make silly mistakes when you're newly introduced to another position however, I'm not disagreeing with you. John Oshea could play every position in the pitch when he was with man. u.

True sha. Because after our coach moved up top, he usually complains that I am playing too deep. He assumes that it's because I "enjoy the game too much". But I don't totally trust that coach because he tends to blame me for practically everything. I can score two goals but if we lose, he would ask why I didn't score three!

I am shocked !!!! literally, he played two games that I watched live and also analysed for Burnley FC U21. Maybe he has improved immensely he was not exceptional. In that trialist group were three boys from Liverpool, 1 from Man city, Bolton and Middlesbrough only two players were offered contracts. The player from Middlesbrough who was also a wing back was offered a contract. But Senninger was not offered a contract he was not what Burnley were looking for.

The other Nigerian origin player a striker was U18 scored a Hatrick and three assists in one game and was offered a contract. After that match that striker was invited to Manchester United.

He was good but not outstanding I would not have thought him able or ready for Nigeria. It's been a year and a half he must have improved immensely or has a very good agent.

Reviews says Fabian is promising. The Journalist seems to think so. The coaches at Nike Academy thought so and he was captain all through. Before Nike Academy, he was also the captain of the academy.

No one says he is ready for the Super Eagles. We are saying, check if he is ready. He has pledged his allegiance to his Motherland.

He plays with his right and left foot comfortably. For a full back, that is nice. I hope Rohr invites him and check if he is ready.

I do not think Leon Balogun would go through the trouble of convincing him to pledge his international future to Nigeria if he did not think Fabian could help the team.
