Do you expect a visa officer or a CBP officer to believe that you need to go
to the USA to learn plumbing?

Sounds funny when i saw his post

Seconded.

Half the time his posts are not even fully grasped. People just attack. I am a fan. His reasoning for the most part is on point.
He is entitled to his opinion. He makes a lot of sense sometimes, but you don't have to aggressively put it out there. Religion is a very sensitive issue to discuss in such aggressive manner. Religion is not everyday science or maths. There are genuine students who have gone there with nothing but the truth and were denied several times, while those with bogus and fictitious documents have been able to make it through with ease.

Personally, I do not support lies or openly celebrating lies while still praising God. You have to understand that there are no perfect nation on earth. There are dirty, smelly Americans as seen everywhere. If a pathological liar and a con man like Donald Trump could make it to oval office- that should tell you a lot. The type of fraud that goes on here in the US are just unimaginable while ours is just total madness.

Imagine the verbal attack Nana Akufo-Addo got for plagiarizing his inaugural speech. But, people here even often as well do thesame. So when you are addressing someone, address the person individually.

Send them waec scratch card to do the needful and verify it online, and if they don't accept that then they are telling you indirectly to go and do evaluation

@TWoods

You are going to make very few friends here and a lot of enemies because of your stand on certain issues but that shouldn't bother you that much.

Stand on what you believe in and keep putting across your opinion when you can

As long as you are not insulting anybody or derailing this thread i'm cool with it.

Good night.
I see visa interview just the same way I see an advocate defending his/her client for committing a crime. The advocate can lie and shield a lot of information in order to get his client free of the charges.

Clearly, it depends on how you are able to defend your case with VO (lies or truth, partial or full information).

Hello friends, good morning to you all. May God bless us all.

Please, I need your input on this issue. I recently made a request for TOEFL waiver from Brandeis University. Below is the reply I got from the school representative yesterday:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for your email. If you are interested in a waiver of the requirement, then it would necessitate an interview by a member of our English Language Programs Office. If you are willing to participate in such an interview, please let me know and I'd be happy to contact their office to arrange one for you. The interview would be via Skype.

If you would like to proceed with the interview, could you please let me know your Skype ID, and what times you may be available this week and next week (in Eastern Standard Time)? We recommend that you allow for a duration of one hour's time, although the interview might take slightly more or less time than that.

Thank you!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, these are my questions:
1) I just installed Skype on my phone and laptop, but I couldn't get my Skype ID. All I could see are my name, phone number and email address. Please, how can I access my ID?
2) I intend scheduling the meeting for next week, probably Wednesday or Thursday, please how do you think I can improve my listening and speaking skills before then?
3) Eastern standard time? If I want to schedule the interview for 12noon Nigeria time, what is the Eastern standard time equivalent?

Urgent responses pls, as I have the intention of sending a reply back to them ASAP.

Thanks in advance!

Your Skype username is same as your ID
2) I intend scheduling the meeting for next week, probably Wednesday or Thursday, please how do you think I can improve my listening and speaking skills before then? I don't think there is any reason to panic, your undergrad was in English, just speak clearly and a little bit slowly, you will be fine.
3) Eastern standard time? If I want to schedule the interview for 12noon Nigeria time, what is the Eastern standard time equivalent? 12pm GMT+1 should be 6AM EST

I guess so. Although I was referring to college station. Most schools in Tx use 'applytexas'. If kingsville use that-then they will allow unofficial.

its even easier to hear american accent than for them to understand your own accent. Like someone said try to talk clearly and slowly. its understandable that you are scared and tensed but trust me,the Skype thing is not hard. most of them are very friendly. additionally you could have written TOEFl. its a piece of cake and this will give you a good chance if you want a TA or GA.
