Hey jatz i have something to say to you, first of all you need some professional help because you are ignorant and in a very bad way but the next time you want to ridicule our holy prophet and use the f word on a topic you have no idea how to respond to ask yourself this, how is it that all the Muslims that have talk so far haven't said a single bad thing about your God Jesus? Contrary to you and other Christians attacking our prophet and by the way Islam allowed polygamy not 3 ways with your wife's so please the next you saw a topic you don't know anything about please refrain from embrassing yourself with your ignorance . Just registered on this site and iam surprise to see after all the time I took reading there rules they still allow people to write this things they are writing about the Holy prophet. And my sister my advice to you is remain faithful and try not to take this as a bad thing because at the end of the day your husband is not out there committing adultery so trust me this is a good thing after all Islam is the only religion that is right up to now the current world statistics is showing that there are many women now than men and considering some of the men are gay in this century it makes you wonder how is it that 1400 years later after the death of the Holy prophet Muhammad is still looking like he is the only one who worshipped the one true God, take new York for example a single city of the 21st century which recent surveys showed that the number women living in the city triple that of the men living in the same city so if we are to say every man most marry a single woman we will still have more women with no husbands to marry them and still some of the men living in the same city are gay which means they like other men, so this is only one city in a world that consists of hundreds of cities so you see my sister any God who said every man should have one wife certainly has no idea about what will happen to new York City in the 21st century or even the rest of the world so it makes you wonder if he has no clue about the 21st century how is he the God Almighty did he create the universe? How comes he has such limited knowledge? While the Holy prophet a man has seen this coming so please my sister relax for wallahi you are on the righteous path just keep your faith and pray to ALLAH and he will clear your path. |

Its surprising how the issue of polygamy brings out the best in our women. I'm impressed at nene1's resolve even as she's still young and unmarried. I'm even tempted to seek her attention concerning how she intends to cope with polygamy and its many demerits in real life situation, cos on paper its well spelt out, so nicely put! I'm a product of a polygamous home where both women lived under thesame roof alongside our Dad. It started quite well and we enjoyed the bonding until we started to lose our innocence or rather the institution opened our eyes earlier than was necessary. Many years down the line, I'm married and have kids yet I'm longing for polygamy like my life depends on it. I've come to the conclusion that the woman of the house contributes to why her husband seeks a second wife in most cases. If you're all he wants, he won't need another. IMO! 4 Likes 1 Share |

I am a muslim and I perceive life from different view points, most importantly, I call myself a learning student of life. Depression as a result of polygamy is real. Not only relating to polygamy, also all form of relationships: if you intend to make me an option and expect me to make you a priority, you are joking. If I can give you my 100%, you should be able to give me your all too. By the time it's tending towards fractional, I will take a dive. I have tasted depression in the past, I know what it is like and everything I do now is channeled towards MY HAPPINESS. Men and women have sexual urges and that is not a justification for polygamy. This point sucks though because ''what were you doing before you got married''. I can still understand the point of who will take care (especially emotionally, financially) of widows and children whose husbands died during battles. You see my people, there is just a thin line between runs babe whose sexual escapades are for monetary yield, a young lady whose life conquest is about getting married to a rich guy, and I am sorry to say 'people' who have to be taken care of... (the emotional tag comes in later as we all know). Sorry for derailing the topic OP, but I go with the first comment. Try a medical approach to understand if an underlying issue exists, and you can look beyond Nigeria for alternative solutions. 7 Likes |

We men are polygamists, forget all thrashes other are saying. No book forbid more than one wife, no culture or tradition forbid it either.most of girls ranting on Internet are even dating married men, so what is the point. Most men get it wrong when they choose to take second for enjoyment instead of religion purpose If God almighty had said don't marry more than one woman, we human would question HIM , that what happen to remain women out there? 2 Likes 1 Share |

FortuneTeller: Everyday I look out for the beauty of Islam in the most logical way. Not just Islam anyway (all forms of my social identity, female, African etc), I have a diverse upbringing but decided to go with Islam because I find peace in certain points, but I wonder why people dwell or stick to doctrines that dampens the spirit. People are achieving technological feats around the world (impacting humanity positively), we are looking for/stuck with a system (all world religions) that is not entirely logical. Let's believe in reciprocity. I am human, you are human too 4 Likes |

taoheedoriloye: Dumb. Women are waking up in this age and time. Good bye to the days when women were taken for animals and slaves. Right now, what is good for the Goose is good for the Gander.... Enough of the oppression! Men have been made to believe they are superior, they can't control their emotions, blah blah blah. Right now, they will either learn to control their emotions, or get their dick cut off if their wives can't satisfy them. Rubbish!!!! 5 Likes |

barakah: I am not getting your point. Please clarify. If polygamy brings out the best in women in marriages, what is the check for the male folks (I never knew there is a omniperfect gene which is just in the male gender). There is nothing as good as being true to oneself and mutual respect and understanding, not only in marriages but also in life relationships, I am sure you've had clashes with siblings before, you've heard of individual differences, terms like tolerance and patience... Please sir,..what's the religious reason in your post again..I think you have lost that point. 5 Likes |

Mrs Harduni, if your claim that why cant woman marry more than one husband is something to think about why cant man marry man as well ? or what do you think about that. Gods way is different from Man. God has Raised men over woman and has permitted us to marry more than one wife. in the Bible Lamech in Genesis 4:19: “Lamech married two women.” Several prominent men in the Old Testament were polygamists. Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon, and others all had multiple wives. Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines (essentially wives of a lower status). Hardunnii: |

taoheedoriloye: @ Mr Taoheed, we Africans are way too quick to say western orientation on every issue, Let's start from western technologies (okay that's science, but slightly think of this medium of conversation), to good labour laws accounting for humanity approach of workers not being treated as slave - that's the field of humanities [that was an evolution my brother, you can start reading from the abolishment of slave trade],...we are slightly getting there) and down to democracy [it's possible we would have still being subjugated to families, having complete dominance over a group of people, because they were fortunate to be part of a family, - that's a social issue].. I respect the traditional rulers but the power they once had is incomparable to today world. Sorry about my ramblings, what is important to what I am saying is people advocated for change because they believed things were not right and could be better, statusquo is usually not always right, our children will question us. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hardunnii: You will just die of hypertension and hyperclux. Forget registry all Na wash for Africa. The worst you will do is to kill your husband like that mad lawyer in Ibadan last year because her husband married a second wife. After all the said couple are Christians, so polygamy in Africa is not persee a muslim thingy. Women should pipe down on this issue, your husband was a stranger before he met you so why kill yourself on somebody who is not your blood but related to by marriage. Don't be over reactive unless you will loose big time. Divorce him you will still loose because nature will haunt you sooner or later and you may fornicate in the future with someone husband or somebody so low to you. Think and think, why not remain number one where you are than being a side chic in nearest future and regret later, I have seen and heard it. Goodluck 1 Like |

Cope with it, your religion permits your husband to marry four, though Mohammed himself married seven, have uncountable concubines and randomly slept with vulnerable women young and old. Though i feel your pain and ask God who distributes the gift of children to remember you soonest. |

It is hard but yorubas say when you accept with God you get peace of mind. Who defined fornication adultery, who made it a sin. Who knows you? God. If man is by nature polygamous and he is not allowed to seek sexual pleasures outside the confines of marriage ( which for me still protects the woman more than the man). Because man would prefer to chop clean mouth and not accept responsibility. Would young men like to marry widows, divorcee. Polygamy might be the only option open to them. Would a widow prefer to be a 2nd wife with security and care or a side chick. Which would her kids prefer (mummy as a wife of step dad or mummy as a hmmmm.) Polygamy is not easy on the 1st wife especially with difficult women or irresponsible husbands. Yet if we truly followed the dictates of equality respect and mutual love, it does work. 3 Likes 1 Share |
