Chai na my London you diss like this? lol

I agree with you. When I moved I looked back and couldn't figure out how I lived in those small houses, and don't get me started on drying clothes on radiators.

But despite all that, London hold a special place in my heart. Gave me my first start and a career which has taken me to the US and I met my wife there.

Intellect20:

I agree with you. I know a Nigerian who likes Canada more than US despite being citizens of both countries. With respect to US/Canada vs London, I think people will prefer US/Canada. London to me is just an adanced Lagos! When I lived there, I thought I was still in Nigeria!

Is a serious case, I was denied entry. My visa was cancelled and I was banned to apply for 5 years.

This affected about five of us that are Nigerians at same time same day.
It also affected many other nationalities that day.

They will soon be tired of the shit, their citizens are lazy. When it started affecting their economy they will intensify "visa lottery".

Wow. Which airport? What did they check and what was their reason? It is not fair at all... Imagine flight ticket money....then landing back in Nigeria, after telling people u are traveling to US, they will now see u again like the ff day.

ttmacoy:
I disagree, please show me proof of any Nigerian who's visa was cancelled because of the order. IT will be because of immigration fraud or if you have visited one of the countries on the watch list and you are a concern.

The average and ordinary Nigerian will not be impacted and given the number of flights and people leaving Nigeria to America daily, only 4 people turned back in two weeks is a very very small proportion so her warning is unwarranted. I'm sure even people from visa counties like the UK would have had similar number turned back in 2 weeks.

Four people who have already passed stringent "connection to home country" and "financial ability" tests at the US Embassy is four people too much. The whole aim of such refusals is to add an element of randomness into the mix that dissuades hones people of modest means from making the journey.

It seems that Abike Dabiri is your target or maybe the government of the day. If so, you have picked a poor instance. It would be irresponsible for any government not to warn it's citizens that a valid issued visa is prima facia not not necessarily good. The fact that prior governments have not done so is a historic reflection of the low priority that Nigeria h accorded her citizens over the years. There is no good reason to continue such behaviour.

At the moment there is uncertainty about travel to the US even for people who are naturalized Americans.

Until the coast is clear and US immigration practice is clear travellers need to be wary.

you talk like you don't know Nigerians and applicants from many countries use false documents to apply and scale through or give false intentions for their visit.

many Nigerians have been returned at POE because they claim they are going for holiday but immigration officials find CVs, certificates etc. in their bag or see chats emails on their phone that says otherwise. And this is not peculiar to Nigerians. If a UK national says he is going to the US for holiday and immigration believe otherwise he will be sent back.

Have you ever watched shows like UK Border force where they turn Nigerians back for different reasons? Why didn't she issue travel advice then?

I stand by my point Dabiri was irresponsible to issue that statement based on 4 people turned back out of the thousands who entered that same period and try to claim it was due to Trump when we all know the executive order was not even in effect.

I can assure you even countries like the UK with visa waiver programs can have 4 people sent back in a 2 week period. Everyday Americans are turned back at Canadian road border for various reasons, Americans, UK nationals etc. are turned back at Australia borders everyday and they don't issue travel warning so get with the facts and stop making a mountain out of a molehill.

Until Dabiri can provide proof of why the 4 were returned claiming it was because of Trump is irresponsible.

Your source is the daily mail? Really?? Why would a US citizen's travel privileges be under review? And the same false article you posted clearly states USCIS confirmed they have no idea what he is talking about yet you still post it. That is proof that you seek any false news that fits your narrative and pounce on it even when the said article says otherwise.

Representatives with US Citizenship and Immigration Services told Dailymail.com that they were not aware of Khan's case or of any American citizen having their travel privileges put under review by the US government.

Calls and emails by the site to the Canada Border Services Agency were not answered.

US Customs & Border Protection officials said the agency does not contact travelers in advance of their travel out of the US, adding that any US citizen with a passport may travel out of the country.

Its actually not a new thing so lets not jump to conclusions. Several Nigerians are sent back every week at POE.

Why would an individual have all their school certificates with them and claim to be going for a wedding?

See below confirmation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs that Abiri has no clue what she was talking about.

She is just confused and making a mountain out of a molehill and creating false panic.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has said that Nigerians who have United States valid travel documents are free to embark on their trip.

The minister's call came barely a day after the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, advised Nigerians to postpone their US travel plans until the country's new administration's policy on immigration is clear.

She said the warning became imperative due to series of reports received by her office.

The minister, while briefing newsmen in Abuja Tuesday, urged Nigerians to dismiss any report asking them to postpone their US trip.

"This is not the case" Onyeama said, stressing that no Nigerian with valid US visa were turned back.

The minister said he had spoken to the US ambassador to Nigeria and high level US officials who said nothing of such had happened," he said.

He said Nigeria is not among the countries currently under US travel ban, noting that both countries enjoyed cordial bilateral relations.

He stressed that it is only the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that are credible sources of information about Nigeria's foreign relations.

Just like an average mortgage cost for a tiny/dog house house in UK is from £1000-1500 pounds, while US and Canada, a big house is $600-800. So what's your point? Yes Pound sterling as a currency has value however London and UK in general is outrageously expensive. Hope you learned something new today!

“We cannot compromise our nation’s securityby allowing visitors entry when their own governments are unable or unwilling to provide the information we need to vet them responsibly or when those governments actively support terrorism,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said on Monday.

The US govt understand what it means to own a complex society, one of it's negative consequences is composite insecurity.

The Nigeria State where we live in need to be reshaped and restructured to avoid mass immigration of it's citizens.

I already know all these but I also know that you can live a decent life as a single person with £1k and you could save another £1k(About N600k) monthly if you have a work permit and fortunate to earn £2k or more monthly.
