I find it funny how a 70+yrs old man is still a Prince, Queen Elizabeth should vacate the throne for him. what kind of greediness is that.
Goodmorning.

Don't you think denigrating others is a bit too much?

What if others now turn on him because of your comment? All will degenerate into insults and tribal bashing.

You can appreciate your without insulting others. Some like showmanship, others like taking it cool. We are all different/

People, just like Kings do things in their own ways.

Any first class King from Nigeria who wishes to travel up and down, visit footballers, musicians or Prince Charles can conveniently do so.

We should stop hyping anything that has to do oyinbo.

By the way I have been up close with Prince Charles & Princess Ann many times. Yet I am not even anything like a white cap chief sef. cheesy cheesy grin

Okay, comment amended. Not wahala!

ile ife is not the cradle of the yoruba people.

if you read old yoruba book, like oro po ni iwe kobo, another book is igbo irumole, they tell you the truth.. it is illiterate who think that ife is.. only non yoruba think so. if a person is a real yoruba person, they know ife is not the cradle of the yoruba people.

this is why they told you state of origin matter in elected position because the people dont know each other culture and history..

He has several wives..there is nothing modern about him
Except modern has a new meaning

That is part of tradition. He must have inherited them from his predecessor.

He doesn't have to sleep with them though. Just to take care of them materially If they decide to remain in the palace.

What are you saying.Bro.
The British never forced any system of government on Nigeria. Immediately the British left in 1963, Nigeria adopted a Parliamentary system of government. The amalgamation of 1914 and real independence of 1963,brought the need for a central government since what hitherto existed was regional monarchy. Sultan of Sokoto, Oni of Ife, Alafin of Oyo etc.
There is nothing hypocritical about this. Brunei and Malaysia and some other countries were at one point colonized by Britain but still retained a Monarchical system of government even after independence. Monarchy is not by elections.
Please go and learn some History!

Force??
Who said anything about force?
Who said anything elections in monarchy??
maybe it not directly their fault most of their colonized countries ddnt retain mornachy rule or not..and this post isn't really about which is better in the monarchy rule or otherwise....
The post was actually referenced from a joke someone made about her not leaving her royal seat for a 70+ old prince...
They encourage the practice of popular 4year government elections and they still have the Queen of england...
Oga its all for for fun ooo....we are Nigeria, I don't have problem with UK ruling system.

This still baffles me. Queen Lizzy @90 yrs. While, Prince Charles @68yrs. The throne is not meant for Charles, na him son/daughter go take over. He self don almost finish his life.

hmmm u should learn to do more research work OK...British and Zimbabwe are not the same. England practice monarchial rulership not like most African countries that practice democracy, so that means she have to die first for her son or relative to take over. that's why she is a queen and he's a president.

Ooni of ife was rich enough to but the entire you and your family before he became the king. So that's your point?
Sebastine1994:
Hijacking

all these traditional rulers are also part of the problems of these country. They are just too many. Lazy people who dont want to work but they want to eat and be pampered. Who made you king over us

for example they collect taxes locally to better themselves at our expense. They use our youth to ferment trouble. Most of these tout in motor park get their protection from the traditional rulers. It is time we say no to these bags of lazy bone. Do you know how much of taxes goes to the oba of lagos alone. He does nothing.

My current base in Kogi. There are just too many kings. I received a report that the king receives the salary of 150 ghost workers. Is that what a king should do?

your question doesn't make sense. Because you are just out to insult me. I hate bragging, but the truth is that my family are richer than my country. We dont show off. Two private jets belongs to my family inside Lagos airport. Can you or your king beat that?
The essence of my statement is that its time we abolished this traditional rulers title. They are doing more harm than good. Search deep down within you.

Charles was saying to the King, ''Your Highness, I'm a deep admirer of the magnificent ancient bronze sculptures of your kingdom.''

WORLD RENOWNED IFE BRONZES FROM 10 AD

When these sculptures were first taken to Europe in the 19th century, the scholars there refused to believe that they were created by Africans. In their view, the great intricacy, stunning accuracy, and sophistication of the works, including the uncanny attention to detail visible in them, signified a society of very high culture and civilization.

They even sent delegations to Nigeria to cross-check the situation. To make sure that they truly came from Nigeria.

They couldn't believe that a people they were at the time colonising, were not just their peers in the civilizing arts of the medieval era, but their superiors. Many art critics of the time stated that the Ife Bronzes were superior to the best of the Dutch masters, the artists of France, and the various other European geniuses of the period.

Till today, Ife sculptural Art exhibitions are held regularly in major museums across Europe, and attract art critics from all over the world.
