I renewed mine in January and didn't have anything like that. By the way I can chose to renew my paper elsewhere. It is not mandatory I do it in Lagos. Whenever I go to Ibadan or Abeokuta, I just cease the opportunity to do it. Lagos and extortion are like 5 and 6.

Let them change tax for every 1 with 3 or more cars. Too many mumu cars on our road causing traffic

It would work.

We paid our annual paper renewal fees on Tuesday and embedded in our dues was the additional #500 radio licence.

Even Baba Segun the Taxi driver must pay.

It would take at least 2 years for the case to be decided... the environmental sanitation case took more than 2 years for it to be decided.

Why are we so averse to paying tax? It is legal! Radio/TV tax is very legal. How much is 500 naira if you have a car?

This is absolutely illegal despite the fact it's a little fee of 500 naira which might also be a great sum of money to anyone too. The government issues licenses to radio houses through the NBC & maybe NCC to commence operation, and these radio houses as well remits VAT & pay taxes to the federal government regularly in return from their revenues generated through adverts, jingles, etc which the federal government passes down to the state government as monthly revenue allocation shared among the 36 state of the federation. So, why requesting the public to pay another tax fee since is a free to air wave? Its just like telling every Nigerian that has a TV at home to pay a tax fee when we all know the TV house is actually show casing their programs & sponsored programs for paid advert purpose so as to make viewers patronise them. And, also some homes view local channels via satelite source like dstv and others of which taxable subscription has already been paid to the licensed service provider. This is double taxation.

The Collectible Items Act of 2004 as amended by Dr Okonjo Iweala in a gazette of May 26 2015 allows vehicle radio licence to be collected
It is a federal law, has nothing to do with Ambode
The same federal law even allows collection of fee for the establishment of a religious place of worship. Lagos state has not implemented it, any governor who does will be accused of moving against the church even he is a pastor
Although it will be difficult to collect from a shrine priests
