Nobody is above the law. A leader suppose to lead by example but reverse is the case here. I wonder how he will behave when he is elected as president.

What is wrong with these people sef? Are there no pressing issues for then to delibrate on? Or what? angry

EdificationBoss:
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola on Thursday asked the Comptroller General of Customs, Hameed Ali to go back and wear his uniform.

He said the rules of the Nigerian Senate still stands on the issue of the uniform.

Sen Yayi says anyone can wear the Customs uniform and appear as the CG @CustomsNG

Hameed Ali has earlier said "no law against him for not wearing Uniform".

Only Africans argue about pointless sentiment that doesn't help move the country forward. Please when has wearing a uniform help create job or better our lives. So because of that the business of the day should stand still we need help more than help in this country.

You can't obey the Nigerian Senate but you can sit in the comfort of your office and issue instructions to law abiding citizens to pay custom fees on already cleared vehicles without minding the hardship Nigerians will go through.

Hameed Ali must be a joke
that is what we get when mafians and military dictators are at the helm of affairs.
Thank you @Nigeriasenate

Too many dramas in this country. This is what you get when you made a judge what of a criminal who stole a cow to preside over a case over that which that stole a chicken!
Nigeria is truly "Fuji House of Commotion."
New actors everyday!
If it's not Yakubu, it's Saraki's case or of that fellow that stole this and that and in the end nothing happens. Yet we act like all is well.
How does it improve the economy or put better food on the table if this man decides to wear that so called "uniform"?
This is just a show of power and it's a shame.
We are still on a long thing!

Customs cg is a post of unifOrmed officers under trained by the customs.

You appointed a head of custom who was a former colonel in the army and n customs and you. Want him to wear a customs uniform.

Ben he must not wear an army uniform not to talk of custom.

I don't blame this man because they want him to break the constitution of Nigeria, people should remember this man is an appointment and a retired soldier not a custom

Who made the nonsense law? Going by the Senators standards, the President should be made to wear all kinds of uniforms in the country since he's the leader of all formations and the Commander-In-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces. He should rotate uniforms daily, all week long. Stupid people! If they really had the interest of Nigerians in mind to debate that customs duty issue for old cars they wouldn't even bring up this uniform matter. They'd start debating from day one and almost have a headway on the issue by now. Instead...why are you not wearing uniform is now the issue. Are they saying they don't recognize the man enough to have a reasonable debate with him? Or they just want to see how he looks in the Customs uniform? Useless Ego rats!

nairalanders , we need to thrash this out , if the comptroller general of customs cannot wear his uniform to perform his official duties , his subordinates should also abandon theirs. Why will the President condone this act of insubordination by the CG.

Which law are you referring to?

He is a political appointee and not a career customs officer, for God's sake. There is separation of powers, the senate cannot order an executive appointee to perform an act not legally enforceable!

This is getting petty. Nigeria has other pressing matters and the senate need to make head way ASAP. 2017 is running Nigerians are ''very happy'' . Its like they are begging the matter. Instruction has been given so lets move on . If he no wan show face make you move on. Must he be present before necessary action is taken or answers to your questions be given. Most of Nigerian head don't really know whats going on . See Magu couldn't even give the exact figure nor answer questions confidently . At least take other key personnel but all this senate appearances are like jamborees.

Why is it a must to wear that uniform? I don't understand.

The rank of comptroller general can only be identified with the aid of the uniform attached to the position. Ali is only displaying arrogance, and the Senate feels that's a slap on the institution.

Why is he feeling too pompous to wear the Uniform? If he as the boss isn't proud of the Uniform, how will the officers under him be proud of it?

One of the Major Problems of Mankind is Pride. If a constituited Authority like the Senate asks him to do something and he bluntly refuses, how then does he expect us to obey his men when the stop us.
You dont have any point in what you have said.if he can not differentiate between constitutional authority from political authority them he worth not to be a boss in such office. If it is not constitutionaly writen or there is aspect of our constitution of federal republic of Nigeria that he must appear in uniform for such reason he was invited them the senators has no right to force him. U cannt obey a command that intend to belittle you as a peson who holds post of authority.the senators also must respect his office
