I prepared breakfast of fried egg and Plantain,before he woke up, breakfast was ready, he came down to meet me.

"Baby, you didn't wake me up to help you with breakfast
", he asked me kissing me on the lips,
"Good morning luv,he greeted me.

" Pls dear,i 've missed your food, i want you cook food for me, i' ll drive you to the market to all you need to prepare it"he pleaded

"I'm at your service, breakfast is ready, let's eat" i told him

After eating and bathing, we left for the market , he gave me enough money to buy to all i needed.

I hour later, i was done, we drove to the supermarket to buy beverages because we used the last one in the morning, we were shopping when someone walked up to us, Nelson was holding me on the waist while we shopped.

We turned and saw Lizzy standing before us, she continued

"I've always suspected you and this village champ" she blurted

"If you call me a village champ again, we'll complete our fight here," i warned her

We have started creating scene in the supermarket, people were beginning to cluster to watch what's happening,
Nelson dragged me and we meant to leave, but she held my hand.

"Elizabeth!, Will you leave her hand now," he thundered at her

"You think you'll scare me with your rantings, if you like bark like a dog," She started waving her hands in the air calling people, "Come and see the shameless he goat that is sleeping with his mother's househelp..... , you think you can use and dump me just like that,...... This thing caused a rift between you and your best friend,....... I wonder if she's carrying diamonds in between her legs that you're all running after her, maybe when she's done with you, she'll move over to your father...... Nelson gave her a thunderous slap

" Thank you for reading out my life history to everyone, i'm leaving but know that it's not yet over, you'll come back begging me, "she said and shamelessly walked out of the supermarket dropping all that she bought on the floor, the attendant was angry and didnt know what to do

" Dont worry, i'll pay for everything she dropped on the floor " Nelson told her

" Oga, God bless you, my madam would've sacked me today," she thanked him

Nelson cleared our bill and we left. The drive home was quiet, i didnt talk,Lizzy has insulted my ego, imagine calling me a village champ, ahe even accused me of causing a rift between Nelson and Dave, maybe that's what Dave told her.

"That girl is wild and crazy, how Nelson ended up with such a girl i cant explain" i thought to myself
I'm really glad Nelson hit her for my sake, but i'll pretend as if i'm angry,when we got home, his servant rushed and carried all we bought inside the kitchen, i turned and went inside leaving him behind, he ran after me.

"Baby pls dont let that crazy girl spoil our weekend, you shouldn't be angry with me, i'm sorry for all she said to you" he pleaded

"She said i'm the cause of the rift between you and Dave"

"Just ignore her," he hugged me from the back and kissed my neck, i giggled, he turned me to face him and kissed me deeply on the lips, we forgot we were living room, we continued kissing till he suddenly drifted away,
"Baby, let's go to the kitchen and check what we bought,i'll help you in the kitchen," he said

We went to the kitchen and got busy cooking,i loved the way he was helping me out in the kitchen, he washed the dishes and pots i used.

Our Saturday was fun,after cooking, we bathed again, we spent our day in the bedroom playing games, he made me forget all that happened at the supermarket,i prayed the weekend will never end.

On sunday, i forced him out of bed to get ready for service, we went to church together.
After service, we came back home and prepared sauce and white rice.
After eating, we went upstairs to rest. We were watching ZEEworld and chatting in his room, he loves cuddling me.
"Baby, i'll miss you if you go back tomorrow, i wish you won't go back again,"

"I'm not yet married to you, so i can't live with you till we're legally married," i told him

"I'll come and marry you then," we laughed
"Nooo, not so fast, marriage is not my priority now, i just entered the University and you're talking about marriage, pls let's forget marriage for now"

"I'll wait for you till you're ready."

Monday morning was dull for me, i would miss Nelson if i leave, he too was acting dull,we left early to enable me drop my bag at home before going to school, Chy called me that she's already in school, my weekend with Nelson will forever remain in m heart.




....... ******Everyone returned on Monday, the house was lively again, Chizzy was telling how busy mum was in Ogun state.

"If i had known mum would be so busy, i wouldn't have followed her to Ogun State,.... Can you believe that she dropped me at her aunty's place and left,... I didnt see mummy again till Sunday evening, it wasnt funny at all." Chizzy complained

"How come she took you along when she knows she would be busy," Chy asked

"I forced her to take me along oo, I needed a change of environment, when i told her of my intention of following her, she refused at first, but when i told daddy about it, he urged her to take me along, i would've followed you girls to Nelson's house, "She lamented

" hhhhhuuuuuhhhh, sorry sweetheart, you're late, "Chy mocked her.

" haba Chy, that's rude,.... You're a bad big sis.. maybe mummy was busy with important issues over there. "


" I think there's something going on,she looks troubled, On our way to Ogun state, a strange number kept on calling her, and she was restless,
Immediately we arrived, she greeted her people and left,I didnt see her again, she only calls to know how i was doing "she explained

" This is serious and you didnt bother calling to tell us what was going on., "she scolded Chizzy

Then i remembered what i heard her saying while climbing the stairs sometime ago.


" I'll take you out tomorrow to compensate you, "Chy told Chizzy.

" Thanks sis, i cant wait for tomorrow "

Nelson arrived later in the evening, everyone was busy chatting and laughing in the living room , mummy looked lost in her world, nobody noticed it,

" Mummy, how're your people doing?, "Nelson asked her

There was no response from her, eveyone turned to her, she was still lost,

" Mummmmmmmyyyyyyyyy!! "shouted Chy

Everyone was startled at her scream, mum returned

" Nelson asked you about your people you visited but it seems there're some other issues you're thinking about "Chy said

Mummy wa shocked that she didnt hear Nelson asked her the question

" Oook, tell us whats bothering you, let's share your problem, "Chizzy said

" Dont mind me, i was only thinking of my aunt's state of health, she's sick "she told us

" Aah, but mummy, aunty was hale and hearty before we left Ogun this morning, "Chizzy told

" She was only pretending ooo, she doesnt want me thinking about it,she wanted to hide it from me, but my cousin told me everything "

" She'll get better in Jesus Name! Chy said

***********Our second semester exams have come and gone, Chy has gone for her IT in Abuja, Chizzy has also written both her jamb and aptitude tests. Daddy travelled to Spain for a business proposal and Nelson has been taking care of the company in his absence.

Mummy have not given us room to suspect something was going on in her life, my relationship with Nelson blossomed, though i never visited his house again after my first weekend there.

Nelson called me on the phone and told me we needed to talk,he told me to chat him on whatsapp.

NELSON:Baby, how're u doing?
AMAKA:I'm fine just missing you.
NELSON :the same here,.. Something has been bothering me..... I think it's time to inform mummy about our relationship, i dont want her to hear it from someone else, what do you think? "

AMAKA:Is it not too early for that?, let's wait, dont rush things pls.

NELSON :For how long will i keep my relationship with you secret? It's almost six months we started dating, I'm a big boy, some of my mates are married with kids, and i'm here playing hide and seek game with you, she either accepts you or forget about me,.

He went offline, i dont know how mum will react to this, i wish Nelson will just give me sometime before talking to mum about us, i dont want her to feel i'm overstepping my boundaries, she has done enough for my family and i, and i'll do anything to make her happy.

*******School has resumed for the new Academic session, i was glad that i'm in my second year in the University, Chizzy had gotten admission to study in Covenant University.

My house hunting began, Nelson helped me get an apartment close to the school, it was a bit difficult convincing mummy to allow us move out,
Nelson helped in furnishing the room, it was a self-contained apartment with toilet and kitchen.


I finally moved out of the house, it wasn't easy staying alone at first but i got used to it, i visited the house on weekends, i was missing Chy alot, she cant wait to return to our new apartment, she still has two months to spend in Abuja.

Nelson visits everyday before going to the family house..... I received a disturbing call from mummy one night.
"Good evening mum" i greeted her shivering

"Good evening,........ Amaka i want to see you tomorrow evening, dont fail to come, you can go to school the next day from here, take care of yourself.

The line went dead, mummy doesn't call at this hour of the night and she doesn't call me by my full name except i did something wrong.,.... has Nelson told her about us?, i decided to call Nelson.

"Baby, are you missing me this one you're calling at this time of the night." he asked me when he picked at the first ring.

"lols, did you tell mummy about us,"


"Why do you ask?"

"she called to see me tomorrow evening,"

"Then go and see her, is that why you're shivering,?, he asked me

" answer me na, did you tell her anything about us? "

" Baby go and see her tomorrow, "

" Since you dont want to tell me about it, then good night, "I cut the phone
He didn't even call me back, i couldn't sleep throughout the night.
I called Chy to inform her of mummy's call, she assured me thag there's no problem that i should go and see her.
The next day after lectures i went straight to see mummy, she was sleeping when i came, i went to our room to rest.

Mummy called me on the phone to know if I was around, i told her that i was in our room, she told me to come into her room.

My heart was beating fast when i entered her room, i was shocked to see Nelson seated on the bed.

"What is going on here?, why did mum invite both us to her room?," i thought to myself

Mummy cleared her throat to talk, but she started coughing profusely

Nelson held her,
"mummy are you ok?, baby pls get her water to drink, "he told me

I ran downstairs and brought a glass of water for her, but she wasn't responding

I helped Nelson to carry mummy into his car, he drove off to the family hospital, he called the doctor and informed him of mummy's state of health,
I was crying throughout the drive to the hospital, Nelson was sweating heavily, i felt liquid drops on my body, i checked and i was scared at what i saw mummy was coughing out blood,

" Nelson pls drive fast, mummy is coughing out blood,! "i shouted at him

I was scared, i've never witnessed such in my life.

We arrived the hospital, and the nurses were already waiting for us, they wheeled her into the ICU(Intensive Care Unit), we meant to enter with them but they stopped us.


I stood crying uncontrollably, Nelson hugged me tight, i couldn't stop crying, why was she coughing out blood, what is happening to mummy,? I asked rhetorically

"hope mummy will be ok, hope she wont die?" i asked Nelson

"She'll be alright baby, she needs our prayers right now,"

I knelt down and started praying.
The nurses were running up and down, no one cared to tell us her condition.

"let me call dad and inform him" he said dialing dad's number, i searched for my phone to call Chy and tell her what's happening, i couldn't find it.

The doctor came out 1hour later and demanded to see daddy, but we informed him that he travelled outside the country,we followed the doctor to his office,

"Someone is after your family,you need to investigate this properly" the doctor said

"What are you talking about doctor?, Nelson asked him


" Your mother was poisoned"the doctor announced

"WHAT!!!!!!!!"? we chorused,

" Yes, and you're lucky she was brought here on time, if you had wasted much time, she would've died,..... We had to flush out the toxic from her system,.... She's still unconscious. You need to go home and rest, tomorrow morning you can come back and check on her, "the doctor advised us.

" pls doctor, i need a nurse to be by her side incase she wakes up in the middle of the night.

"I'll arrange for that, you can deposit some money,I'll see you tomorrow. the doctor said

We left the hospital around 11pm,Nelson suggested i sleep over at his place because it's close to the hospital.

I bathed and changed into one of his pyjamas since i didnt plan my sleeping over and had no cloth to change into,i washed my clothes and undies and hung it where it would dry fast,


We couldn't sleep. We were just wondering how mum was poisoned and who could want her dead and why.

"I must get to the root of this, no one messes with any member of my family and goes scot free,"

He called his dictator friend and informed him of what happened, he promised to visit us the next day.
