Hello, N'landers. I plan to apply for utme next week but there is this weakness in my olevel result and its that I have pass(D7) in maths. I have been making some research lately about universities that accept an art student with D7 in math and the students of those uni have been telling me that their school don't accept and the likes even contrary to what jamb brochure stipulated.
I plan to register for law tho' or even if I will need to change the course. I just want to know how things are.
Eminent Nairalanders, Please, help a brother!!!

Fear not bro

If Dino can be admitted with a worse result then you have a fighting chance

You will need to book a session with Dino Melaiye. That is his area of expertise... He has 8 degrees to showcase, without the basic prerequisite.

Study your jamb brochure...I got in with a D7 in mathematic cos it was stated as acceptable in the jamb brochure.
Wrote Waec again (this time a C in maths)but the result is just in a folder...not had cause to use it.

Bros, don't be deceived, u must have a credit in mathematics to gain admission to study any course in the university including law and mass comm. Admission is now competitive and any slight deficiency like a D7 in maths would deny u admission. A D7 in maths would fetch u admission to study mass comm in some polytechnics but certainly not into the university. Take my word and register for GCE and do all within ur power to credit maths and English.

That is a strong pass and not bad at all for an Art student.

Most Arts and Humanities courses require at least a pass (D7, E8). You should be able to study any of the Arts and Humanities courses.

I had a D7 in maths, my sister had an F9 in maths. We both applied to OAU same year. We were both admitted and today we're both lawyers. However, my aggregate was 280 while hers was 276.5. I had 3 distinctions, she had 5.

If you apply to a school like Unilag or Ebsu, they won't admit you cos aw credit in maths is a requirement for admission there.

Check the requirements of whatever school you choose, it would guide you accordingly.

Cheers.
