Yeah. Nigeria is the 5th most dangerous place in the world for Americans to visit, but the MOST dangerous place in the world for Nigerians to live. Ironic, somewhat.

post=54964528:
The United States department has ranked Nigeria as the fifth most dangerous place for Americans to visit.

The ranking comes as part of the State Department’s latest issue of advisories to keep Americans who travel abroad safe.

The rankings take into consideration what potential threats Americans may be faced with in countries they are visiting .

With data sourced from warnings and actual deaths recorded for Americans in other countries, Business Insider reported that “data from Priceonomics customer data.world, a platform that ties many different data sets together so it’s easy to analyze them” was used in analysing the rankings.

Pray to God for protection;
My advise to those visiting Nigeria is do not flash or show off too much so you do not gather unnecessary attention from thieves, kidnappers and so on.
If you are the flashing type hire some body guards or surround yourself with a group of friends
announce when you are coming to Nigeria to a select trusted few and close friends/relatives.
Store your US Passport in a very secure place and know your emergency contacts off hand.
Know how to contact the US Embassy
Be familar with your environment and do not venture to unknown environment by yourself.
Overall Nigerians are friendly and welcoming people.

Stop talking rubbish. People migrate to America for economic opportunities. That does not negate the fact that it is a very dangerous country to live in due to the high murder rate and widespread availability of guns.

How I wish Nigerian can channel their respective reactions towards the development of the nation. By simply having empathy with one another, debunking every element of bigotry and prejudice against tribes and religion factions. How I wish we are all ready to sacrifice for our neighbours and refrain from being selfish and refute greediness. How I wish voodoo can be positively harnessed and converted to technology that will be useful for mankind. Perhaps, these people will stop seeing us as inferior and even covet to be in our midst.

Everyday I open up Nairaland and I see the tribal animosity that exists in our country, I can't help but weep for our country. We are sitting on a keg of gunpowder and it could blow up at anytime. I really think we have to come together for the sake of our dear country and work things out. There is only a limit to which our struggles to make this country progress if on the inside we all still bear these misgivings towards each other.

But people even do fellowship at the embassy prior to the visa interview
But you will recall that at the height of the Libyan war some Nigerians did not want to come back

Another stupid post. You may be an uncritical slave to America, but we are not. Whether or not we visit or migrate there. No country is infallible. If they fck up, we criticize them. If you can't stand that, tough luck.

The North is a haven for terrorists and islamic ideologists.
In the SW the streets are littered with filth and dirt, plus you'd have to deal with the menace of robbers, rapists and rampaging diabolical ritualists.
The SE and SS are full of agitators for self reliance, and equal treatment. . . they are mostly peaceful, but can sometimes get unruly as every sane human.
The country is just hell like.

They are right. Think of these scenarios

1. An American gentleman strolling on the streets of Port Harcourt only to be shot dead by stray bullets from soldiers chasing peaceful Biafran protesters.

2. An American trying to do a little farming around Benue state only to be killed by Fulani herdsmen who wants to forcefully graze their cattle on his crops.

3. An American migrant exploring the beauty of Ondo state and caught by the many ritualists who cut off his head, gorge his eyes and cut his privates thinking that the ritual will make them $$$ since na white man grin
Now think of these:
1.Policeman shooting a black man dead for nothing in the street of New York.

2. A Nigerian being in a night club in Las Vegas and getting blasted into pieces by overzealous homophobic terrorist.

3. Donald Trump deporting you and labelling you a terrorist when you legally acquired American citizenship.

America is a merchant of terror.
More people are killed by police brutality in America than any country in Europe.
Arguably, more homicide is committed in America daily than any other country in the world.

More mass shootings occur in America.
What on earth is not worse is America?
