answer is friday Explanation: Consider the statement " If yesterday was tomorrow, today would be sunday" means that the teacher rearranged time to move ahead with two days i.e the time between yesterday and tomorrow of a particular day is two days apart. Now since the assumed "today" is sunday it means that when we subtract two days from the assumed today (sunday) from the original statement, we would get the actual today which means sunday minus two days is friday. Answer is therefore FRIDAY |

The confusion lies in the statement "If only YESTERDAY was TOMORROW". The answer to this particular statement is Friday. "If only TOMORROW was YESTERDAY". The answer to this one is Tuesday. I see a lot of people mixing both up. The confusion is in the Grammar. 1 Like |

Friday. Explantion: if yesterday (Thursday) was tomorrow (Saturday), today would have been Sunday, because on Sunday, yesterday is always Saturday. If you understand my explanation and agree with me, click 'like'. 1 Like |

ALAYORMII: THE ORIGIN OF APRIL FOOLS' DAY: Here is an interesting historical fact. Just have a look at the calendar for the month of September, 1752. Go to Google and type " September 1752 calendar" and see for yourself. You will notice 11 days(3rd-13th) are simply missing from the month. Here's the explanation: This was the month during which England shifted from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. A Julian year was 11 days longer than a Gregorian year. So, the King of England ordered 11 days to be wiped off the face of that particular month. So, the workers worked for 11 days less that month but got paid for the whole month. That's how the idea of "paid leave" came into existence. In the Roman Julian Calendar, April used to be the first month of the year, but the Gregorian Calendar observed January as the first month. Even after shifting to the Gregorian Calendar, many people refused to give up old traditions and continued celebrating 1st April as the New Year's Day. When simple orders didn't work, the King finally issued a royal dictum which stated that those who celebrated 1st April as the New Year's Day would be labelled as fools. From then on 1st April became April Fool's Day. |

Obinoscopy: The teacher made the statement on Friday Pm a Friday morning, yesterday=Thursday and tomorrow equals Saturday. So, if yesterday was tomorrow means if Thursday was Saturday, then tomorrow (next day to Saturday) would be Sunday. |

Marvel1206: Not correct....Remember today must be: Sunday..if Tuesday were correct, then today will be Thursday. I think, the statement was made on Friday...proof: Let assume the statement was made on a Friday. 1. If Yesterday (Thursday) was tomorrow(Saturday). 2. Meaning Yesterday is now Saturday. 3. If Yesterday was Saturday, meaning today is Sunday. Since today is Sunday, it means our initial assumption is correct and the statement was made on Friday. |
