Dear OP, the southerners had the opportunity to dominate under OBJ and GEJ. OBJ tried a little but still played into the hands of the north. I don't want to sound tribalistic but GEJ was worst. The southerners must elect a fearless and just nationalist when power rotates back to the south else forget southern unity. |

Sorry. I don't see that happening anytime soon. We know those who come online to open silly threads about their hosts. It's never going to work. The prayer point of most indigenes of the southwest is that Biafra is granted or the Jews find their lost brethren and have them shipped back to Jerusalem. Whichever comes first. No, we are not interested in any southern unity. It'll always be a mirage. 7 Likes |

mightyhaze: Sometimes when I hear the word " the yorubas stabbed the igbos at the back", am like how exactly because from your point of view, some of you twist the story to make it look as if it was a betrayal. I agree igbos in a way have been sidelined for too long but somehow you guys are too rigid in political affairs. An indigene from SS region was an ex president was voted massively by SW in 2011 presidential election which he won. He lost 2015 election because of his shameless leadership and since then igbos have been crying wolf SW betrayed them (Is he an igbo?, you people are even crying more than the bereaved sef) but I can't say the fulani goro who won is working neither. It's just like the decision btw the devil and the deep blue sea. By 2019 if igbos can field someone competent to rule, I will gallantly vote for him. I would have preferred rochas okorocha due to the fact that he is a political neutral man but he has not earned that respect enough as he is not living up to the task for imolites. Someone like obiano would make sense but I sense he maybe biased. I just want good leadership in this country and I don't care wherever tribe he or she comes from. 10 Likes |

[quote author=mightyhaze post=55305241] It's simple,..yorubas shd give igbos unalloyed support and solidarity for igbos to rule, dis will earn dem igbo trust. Because the problem here is yoruba betrayal over the years from 1966 to date! And what makes you think that the Yorubas want to earn your trust? You guys are so full of yourselves to think the Yorubas give a hoot about you. Mention just one instance of "Yoruba betrayal" of Igbos. Igbos have actually forgiven yoruba tracheary,by supporting obj to rule for atleast 8yrs under civil rule,..and have allowed yorubas and hausas to rule in peace during military era. Igbos too hav supported hausa fulani candidates atleast twice under civil rule viz shagari and yaradua rules. you have forgiven us? Awwwwnnnn... How generous of you. Is that why you've decided to keep coming to our abode for sustenance? Please How did you allow the Yorubas to rule in peace during the military era? Do you even know what you are talking about? The only logical/reasonable thing 2 do now is to gv igbos unwavering support 2 rule. By so doing, nigeria will not only be doin the only just thing, but will be giving itself an opportunity 2 be revamped and set on d road 2 greatness, since the great igbo tribe has been tested and found 2 possess that touch of midas! The only support you'll get from the Yorubas is getting your Biafra and that's all. Well we could also help you pack your bags and luggage and probably give you transport fare when you get your country and decide to leave the southwest. Finally igbos don't hate yorubas,..they just not ready 2 be stabbed at the back again and again,..so they being quite cautious! The onus is on yorubas 2 redeem their image b4 the igbo race they have so actively schemed against for atleast 51years! I'm sure you are trying hard to believe what you have typed. In case you are delusional about Igbo's hatred for the Yorubas, take a stroll around the politics and culture sections of this forum. If that isn't enough, go back to the east from whence you came and ask how many Yorubas have been able to buy land successfully. Then search your heart for the unadulterated truth about How you truly feel about the Yorubas. Not that we give a sh1t anyway. Mention one instance when the Yorubas stabbed you in the back The Igbos should concentrate on redeeming their drug - battered, excessive money - loving, and crime-induced image, locally and internationally instead of waiting for an apology from the Yorubas that will never come, not in a trillion years 11 Likes 1 Share |

For the avoidance of doubt, no single ethnic group can win the presidency of the country on the goodwill of her ethnography. Judging from the geographic structure of Nigeria, you need at least ONE of the three major ethnic groups to sail. Igbos, judging from past circumstances and the recent clamour for a new country, would naturally not align with the north. An Igbo / Yoruba alliance is frankly more likely to occur irrespective of political maneuvers. |

mightyhaze: Do not be under any illusion that Igbos have ever supported Yoruba candidate in any election. Ibos rejected the candidate of the Yorubas, Olu Falae and voted en mass for the Fulani cum military choice Obasanjo. In June 12 1993, Abiola lost the Ibo vote to Tofa a fulani man. In the struggle to chase away the military from power championed by Yorubas, over 95% of Ibo elites and politicians joined the military to fight Yoruba, collecting contracts, appointments and yearning for extended military rule, until Yoruba strategy worked at discrediting the military/Fulani/Ibo position and making rule by force untenable. Unlike Yorubas who voted for Ibo candidate GEJ in the 2011 election, there's no record of Ibos interest ever converging with Yoruba. It appears whenever Yoruba takes a position on any matter Ibos become duty bound to oppose it as a duty. Even during the Jonathan conference, Ibos opposed state police championed by Yorubas years before the meeting. Today Ibos like everyone else now call on the Fulani led federal Police and Army to save them from Fulani herdsmen, how Ironic 17 Likes 3 Shares |

You guys dish out meals you claimed is unpalatable when served back At which meeting did Yorubas agree to vote back Jonathan in 2015 that was later renegade on? It's obvious low quality education makes people use words they lack understanding of its meaning. Ovamboland:what is this one saying? Why are u shifting goal posts? Is obasanjo a yoruba man or not? Did igbos support both his candidature and subsequent rule or not? How many igbo candidates have u ever thumbprinted for in ur life?? Now,if delusion of superiority is not ur prob, how will u justify the attempted humiliation of the igbo race by abiola who had d audacity 2 say dat igbos are inconsequential in Nigerian politics and dat anyone can win elections without them? U expected the proud igbo race 2 fall over themselves 2 vote such person? Moreover, abiolas betrayers where all yoruba elders. He was betrayed by his own kinsmen wich led 2 his incarceration and eventual demise Now ur talking about supporting jonathan an ijaw man. Are u a clown or wot? Is jonathan an igbo man? Is shifting and rearranging goal posts ur favorite hobby? We ralkinhg igbo and yoruba here and ur bringing in jonathan,an ijawman from south south. Moreover there was no such time yoruuba even gave jonathan a wholehearted support! The reverse of ur argument is the case. Yorubas are the ones dat are awake n studious, looking for anything dat will benefit the igbos and the entire south to counter it,so they can look good 2 the hausa fulani. That is the object of contention here, south of Nigeria! 9 Likes |

mightyhaze: Anyone voting in 1999 had no choice than to vote either Yoruba men as the only two candidates. The other option is to abstain. At no time did Yoruba beg for Ibos votes because the candidate is Yoruba as Ibos now want to blackmail Yorubas to do for them. You might forget but Yorubas remember that the process that led to two Yoruba men as sole contestants was vehemently resisted by Ibos elites by going to dance for Abacha and championing his conference. Except you were a kid then the 1999 election effectively delivered power back to those who opposed democratic governance and sustained military rule and it was the candidate of this group that most Ibos supported. Did you know not that IBB who annulled 1993 election went to Obasanjo to Persuade his candidacy? No Ibo candidate with a chance has ever presented himself to the public for election. The nearest is Pat Utomi who got my vote even though I knew he stood no chance. Ojukwu who wanted dismemberment of the country couldn't get my vote. 4 Likes |

The fact is that the Igbo's are too uncultured, unpragmatic, emotionally unstable, cry babies and politically unsophisticated to be in any kind of alliance with the Yoruba's. They lack hindsight and foresight, and are experts in blame shifting. They hate taking responsibility for their actions and inactions and would rather blame others for their inadequacies and limitations. They also aren't strategic thinkers and lack comprehension of the dynamism of Nigeria political system. 14 Likes 3 Shares |
