I once read that children eat according to what their bodies dictate. Ease out of the milk for a while. Give him cereals with lots of milk....
He might be a correct foodie and you're dulling him with all your milk milk milk..... Lol.

My baby lost his appetite also at four months when he started teething (i posted it here too cos i was so worried), although the teeth is yet to come out sef. He's on formula and usually takes btw 120 to 150 ml like 8 times a day but it dropped to 60 ml with begging. As the fever and cough began to wear off, it increased to 90 ml. He is five months now and his appetite is restored, gradually gaining back the lost weight.

He takes 120 ml now and surprisingly, I topped it up with another 90 ml on Sunday (making 210 ml) and he finished everything. He even drank 240 ml yesterday o.

We are starting cereals this week though, so I wouldn't know the effect of the cereal on your lo's his milk consumption. But I do think it is the teething that is causing the loss of appetite, so don't stop giving formula and breast milk. It will soon be over

It could be he is just taking a break! Please offer him whatever he still manages to take and include his milk in the cereals(lots of it).

My son has been on goldenmorn, water and Ribena for the last week! He just suddenly rejected every other meal and to be honest I'm not bothered one bit! As long as he is happy with what he is taking mama Ekene is also happy when he is ready to eat other foods I'll be here waiting.

So please just give it time.

My ibo neighbour once told me yoruba pipo back babies too early, hence the babies develop bow leg (myth or fact? I no sabi o). I never noticed anyway until when they wanted to back my baby after circumcision @1 week plus, cos he was crying inconsolably which i objected to. So we started with the backing when lo's circumcision healed completely. I would say like 3 weeks. I just make sure his legs are not pulled wide apart.

So mama, me thinks you are good to go at 6 weeks

I start backing once cord falls off.
Don't spread legs at all. The leg should be straight, use oja. Don't do the one wrapper style yet biko
Careful not to sit in his feet.
Make sure the neck is okay. You can use an extra scarf to hold the neck sef.
Make sure his nose isn't against your back. His head should be sideways.

My babe at about 4m1w did same.
I ran to buy another milk.
She was on aptamil but i switched to nan.
She liked the new milk.
After 3days she started rejecting d nan and i got friscogold cereal.
Now she takes friscogold and nan well.

What my neighbour told me when my babe was 2 months was dat kids dont eat during teething.
So she advised i try and feed as often as possible.
Then try different milk.

So when i was faced with this i was trying all o.
I started expressing every evening.

Its a phase n it will pass but dont relent.
Get another milk... any1 u r ok with.

I was told kids love nan cos its sweet.
Friscogold too is sweet.
And truely she loved em.

Been so worried as this is Day 5 and still no change. Glad other mothers have passed through it successfully. It just feels like one's own is different especially as I never experienced it with my firstborn. Will try the different suggestions. Will continue with the cereal and blended veggies. Hopefully, he will resume drinking milk. Luckily for me, no fevers or cough for these teeth. He was just salivating for about a month and suddenly I feel something sharp biting me and I see the teeth. I am against teething powders and creams but I almost went to buy one if it will encourage him to eat.

Honestly, my DH even contemplated abortion in d early stage,but I told him God will do wonders. The only scan I did was @ 13weeks. There is no hope of funds at all. Iv not registered for ANC, talkless of having anoda scan or even buying few things for lo. Pls,for d sake of Almighty God, assist a sister. All iv said above is d truth. I thought doctors encourage EBF for 6 months it turn around dat my SIL who's a doctor and who delivered my wife of our baby boy has been encouraging her to add baby formular from 3 months. All men hate to see their baby cry but babies av to cry sometimes. Don't feel offended with my response but I believe for d doctor to av suggested u add formula,she must av spoken with your wife and realize it will help her.sometimes,we try to hide our feelings whereas we r not fine or strong at dt moment.at some point again,we just find dt strength to carry on.my baby is 4mnths plus and I have had times I wish I was combining formula,sometimes,I almost went out to buy but by d time d stress is over,I will forget it again. Allow her to do what she wants as a mother.its not easy my brother,I believe u half understand her to some extent.i don't av a job am earning from but did motherhood job is exhausting and I pray God remembers everyone asking for dis beautiful gift. So, @ you saying she is not working so no reason for not doing EBF.my brother it's not easy.
I stay at my in-laws presently, they are very helpful and help carry him whenever they are around but still my brother.,e no easy.

Bought gripe water initially as MIL suggested it, but it is supposed to be from 4 or 6 weeks or so. And dd was much younger than that.

So i got infacol as it is one of the ones that actually says from birth on the package.

In all honesty......... i dont even know if it worked for dd? But we kept giving if only to satisfy hubby and MIL that we are addressing the matter...lol i guess everyone has a different system.


Give it a go ot may just work miracles for you.

my MIL also bought gripewater but it only made her not poo for over a week, immediately i eat vegetable and she poos we are back to square one,have stopped the gripewater.

Pls how do you back him without spreading his legs to your sides?
I've tried, it didn't work. My son will scream and scream till I bring him down, meanwhile he's over 2 months.
I ditched our carrier too cos he didn't agree to stay in it.
I felt it was because his legs weren't comfortable with any of the alignments.
Or is it just that he feels trapped or hates being restrained.

I started backing my son from when he was 2 weeks. I don't spread his legs. Then I use extra veil to held his leg part and another to hold his neck he will just sleep off after small struggling

As for the carrier, i use chicco and as soon as he's in it, I walk around the house and sharp sharp the boy go de snore. Lol. But If I want work na backing sure pass.

He's now 3 months and I back him with legs apart but not too much.

Just keep trying.
