its impossible for samsung or huawei to sell more phones than tecno in Africa. How many people in africa can afford phones by samsung or huawei? Even people in developed countries with high gdp get these samsumg phones on contract.
If not for tecno, infinix and others mtk phones, android would be off limit to alot of africans. This stats posted is suspect.

Someone let me know SA buy more of Samsung phones. Even my uncle from Mozambique explained that most people there prefer Samsung mobile. My friends from Ghana; most use Samsung mobiles. Not that this is a basis for factual proof but it gives a hint that perhaps Transsion products are dominant in Nigeria, not necessarily every other places.

The topic said Africa but he's using Nigeria market statistics.

Tecno infinix etc may lead in Nigeria but not so in other African countries like Ghana, Mozambique, Kenya, South Africa, etc.

it's not that people wouldn't afford to have smartphones, but rather they'd be paying for a lower specs. For instance rather than a 5.5 inch Tecno J8 at 50k, one would buy 4.7 inch samsung j2 at the same price.

But u guys speak as if samsung only sells expensive phones. Please check the grand prime, J2, J1, J5... Samsung has a lot of cheap smartphones but the only problem is that they offer very low specs.
