jail isn't necessary now. Our judicial system is the slowest in the world. The federal govt could be on the case for as long as the corrupt politician lives and nothing would happen at the end of the day, not even until after he's passed away. The government is more interested in recovering the loot first and declare it forfeited. If case is necessary, then it will be acted upon decisively.
