The rate of accident in this country is really something to worry abt....... what are the govt input to curb this menace ,government agencies like road safety official do they stick to road safety rules or do they comprise it, because of peanut the daredevil drivers sort them at the peril of the passengers.......Really high time govt sit up to their civic responsibilities..........bad road contributes its quota too....Nigeria,a failed state or are we in the brink of being one...........Pollithievians...Tufiakwa unu

Look at No. 6 on the list. The federal road is already ongoing and has reached about 30% which represents most section of it in Anambra and Imo.

The ongoing rehabilitation of Owerri-Umuhia road sections I, II and III.

2)
The ongoing construction of Arochukwu-Ohafia-Abiriba road project.

3)
The ongoing construction of the Ohafia-Oso road project.

4)
Construction of Ikot-Ekpene border-Aba-Owerri dualization. Section 1 phase 1 currently at 22% completion.

5)
Ongoing Construction of Mbaise-Ngwa Road phase 1 and 2 currently at 11% completion.

6)
Ongoing Construction of Oba-Nnewi-Okigwe Road section 2. Currently at 30% completion.

7)
Ongoing construction work on the Rehabilitation of Enugu-PH Dual Carriageway Section II.

Fashola will proceed to Ebonyi State after inspecting all these roads.

But I will always and still blame the govt....most of the major roads in Anambra except federal roads are just a single lane road despite having high volume of traffic.....

Roads in Anambra States are actually one lane and are very narrow, with Mostly opened drainage, and poor curves at junctions. To me, some of the roads in there are just death traps.

The state's ministry of works (it's commissioner ) is performing below average and the governor needs to overhaul that ministry.

Anambrians are truly dissatisfied with the quality of roads projects executed in the state, and this might be one of the areas in which Obiano's performance will be assessed with respect to the upcoming gober election.

I hv notice that some idiots came to this trend tree play politics.See them see politics, if you ask them name of the Hon member representing their constituency, they can't tell you. If there is anyone to blame for the non dual carriage way, it should be Obi and Ngige and not Obiano. Obiano can nt render ppl homeless just because he can't to correct something that is already too late.

Google Earth images of the ongoing 3-Dual carriage way project that lead to Anambra International cargo Airport.
The first dual carriage way links the Onitsha/Enugu highway and leads direct to Awka and parts of Anambra south. The second route connect Trans-Nkisi highway and Onitsha. The third dual carriage way connects the Igbariam, Nteje, Otuocha road, state University and parts of Anambra north.
If not for Gov. Willie Obiano who is leading Anambrarians out of the doom Obi and Ngige put them into, We would have been singing another song by now.

After viewing this shocking pictures, I wept and asked myself ,am I too young to die. Of course I said no just that God has been merciful to me, protecting me yet a chronic sinner I am. God grant me pardon and peace and absolve me from all my sins. May God grant the dead eternal life in heaven through Christ our Lord, Amen! Just wept for the little kids and the rest victims as well. God please, continue to protect and grand us journey mercies and look not upon our sins whilst we constantly rely on your grace to make amendments.

Am still feeling shocked and sad seeing my fellow country people dying due to the negligence and mismanagement of this our useless politicians to do the right thing.

Nigeria is really a shameful country when the best those in power know is to be burying our money in graveyards, mortuary and taking them to foreign country indirectly developing those country.

I don't exchange words with woman, sorry for my response to him, I was feeling for those that lost their lives especially the little kids before i stumbled on his comment, he was trying to play politics wit the accident, Ekwusigo is not urban area in Anambra, if he lack knowledge about Anambra he better not comment, Awka alone which is state capital has five dualized roads, apart from Enugu/Onitsha express, they are Arthur Eze road, green wood road, Esther Obiakor road, GRA road, Dr Alex Ekwueme road.

My dear, sheath your sword. The guy meant no harm...just hitting the root cause. Rural area or not, what exactly is development? Go to north, some roads better than the best we have here (down south) are mainly used by kekeshanu( cow propelled cart).
