INJUSTICE

Treating Igbos and Igboland as if they are not wanted nor are they part of Nigeria.

As a Nigerian you are a bare faced liar to say you don't know it

Stop playing the victim unnecessarily. Nigeria is a fake country. A country set up in order to dominate and milk the docile.
Why do u think anytime they bring up the topic of breaking up Nigeria, all the northerners talk is how they fought to keep it one. That's like a veiled threat to say look, we will crush whoever tries to challenge our dominion like we did before.

Afonjas...they ask useless questions. Wouldn't you want secession if all the seaports in Lagos were closed down or not fully functional, and the International airport is not functioning fully? Prompting all Yorubas to make a 12-hr road trip to the East just to clear their goods or fly in and out of the country? Wouldn't you also not want secession if every government office and diplomatic missions are in Enugu or Port Harcourt, prompting all Yorubas to make 12-hr drive to the East just to get visa or get a government service? You Yorubas know this is not fair and won't tolerate it, yet you come up here and ask why do you want your own country?

Injustice in what way? Every state have representatives & senators, also ministers are appointed from every state. So can you be specific because this is not peculiar to Igbo's alone.

Ndigbo want to develop at their own pace. They do not want to be part of a society where merit is slaughtered on the altar of mediocrity in the name of quota system.

Ndigbo want to build an egalitarian society where merit and merit will take the front seat in all endeavours.

We do not want a society where we are not allowed to run because our neighbour can not run hence we have to slow down our pace so he can keep up with us so he's not left behind.

We want a country where we do not have to wait for the Federal government to give approval and modalities for tapping our God given resources like the abundant oil and gas reserves in the Anambra basin and the humongous coal deposit in Enugu.

You have spoken well, and I could deduce the following;
Equity and Fairness
Fast paced development
Merit.
These are very good points.

Sorry to disappoint you, I don't see any sense in drawing another ethnic group into the discussion at hand. The question is very clear and people have responded well.

you know that the FG made it that the southeast is left with only five states and other geopolitical zones with higher states thereby making it hard for the SE to have a vocal voice in the National Assembly and also to have equal zonal revenue allocation for development at per with other states.

because they want to
1 shape their country with their own hands based on their culture, beliefs and tradition which is built on MERIT
2 give their future generations a sure foundation and better identity . things which the zoo sorry nigeria cant and dont offer
3 turn ASUSU IGBO into a dominant language from the one on the brink of extinction! a position it holds currently
4 make inventions without fear of quota system jealousy
5 abolish quota system and violent religion!
6 turn ALA IGBO into the greatest country on earth with our huge deposits of human and natural and even material resources...... something impossible in nigeria

there is no need to continue.............. kwukata kwukata aburo na nti ga anu! maka na nti ga anu ihe aburo belu ma oha ka okpu ata!

Igbos want a sovereign state due to the injustices meted out against them and they will get it.

If Fulani want a war with Igbos, let them bring it on.

Unless a dramatic thing happens to address the fundamental injustices happening right now in Nigeria where a section had seized the Nigerian army to use it as a tool of oppression against other sections of the country, Nigeria will definitely break up.

Just like the former USSR broke up in spite of threats to use the Soviet army against parts of the country. No army can defeat a determined people...and the continued and even heightened injustices in Nigeria under Buhari has brought this issue of Nigerian citizenship up to be addressed once and for all.

Many reasons why but the simplest I can think of is that I don't want to belong to a union where I am threatened over my choice to vote who I want to vote for. Where a president can call me 5% and my fellow "Countrymen" applaud him. Our children deserve better than this crap

Nigeria, presently is structured to fail. Her constitution and nepotic system will make a success an ugly failure. Give Obama the Nigerian presidency to run, and watch him fail like a whoping sissy. Fast-forward into the future, in the next fifty years, Nigeria will still remain in the same circle of failure, as long as she maintains this current structure. This is one of the reason the Biafrans wants out. sad

Many Nigerians are educated but not informed. Its all how to join bandwagon to chant nonsense that they know. For me, only gullible illiterates hungry to throw away money they don't have and to flush their destiny in latrine support Biafra.

Biafra is a mythic unsustainable ridiculous idea that has no basis in reality. I even watched in total amazement as that big oaf rushed to court to support a common criminal that promise to annihilate the entire Yoruba's. Dumbasses!!

Asking why Igbos want their own sovereign nation or Biafra is like asking why Zik, Awolowo, Bode Thomas and the nationalist want independence.

The answer to both question is 'it is/was their right. Why should anyone be questioning Igbos about exercising their right?

@OP,

-We want Freedom, Liberty, Equity, Peace & Justice, which Nigeria couldn't afford to give us for decades. ...see the killing of Igbo sons & daughters who went out on a peaceful assembly but never came back!

-As no one/country can give what they don't have, we have decided to pursue our rights to self-determination in order to guarantee our safety as a Nation.

He said he will annihilate the entire yoruba but he has not done that. The truth is, not every wish will come to pass. There is no way one man can annihilate an entire tribe but if NK thinks he can annihilate yorubas, we shall see how that goes. Until then, people should stop calling him names. Who knows, he might even have changed his mind
