Question of the day: This little misunderstanding between Ijeoma and Shivani, whom do you think spoke wrongly to the other? Was it Ijeoma or Shivani? And state your reasons.

FOR ME IJEOMA SHOULD BE BLAMED SOLELY FOR THIS BECAUSE BOTH HER FATHER AND SHIV MOTHER ARE AT FAULT

SHE HAS NO RIGHT TO INSULT SHIV MOTHER AND BLAME FOR THE CRIME HER(SHIV'S MOTHER) AND THE IGWE COMMITTED...

AFTA ALL IGWE WAS THE ONE INSISTING DAT THEY CONTINUE THEIR RELATIONSHIP DESPITE THE FACT SHIV MOTHER WAS TRYING HARD TO END AND SHE(IJEOMA) SAW IT ALL

Ijeoma has no right to insult shiv cos she (shiv)doesn't even know anything about d relationship....besides no normal human being will allow anyone to insult his /her parent

This is my first comment on this story. It just that, I wonder why Dike mum is concerned her husband is having an affair when she has six co-wives. I don't see how practical that is, by now she should be used with sharing him with other women. Secondly, if it is the fact that dike mum wasn't showing affection is what pushed the king to seek comfort from Frada, why didn't he look for that from other wives.
You're right i wanted to ask why is it that only ijeomas mother was portrayed as the wife of the king?

Ijeoma shouldn't be blamed for calling Freda what she really is, buh Shivani.... she is a fool for protecting the dignity her mother had long lost... That shivani gets angry at the wrong thing and stays mute at the wrong thing
Re: Tradition - A Story by Chumzypinky(f): 9:57am On Apr 29, 2017
Dike watched from the slightly opened door as Shivani fumed in her room, scattering everything around the room.

She looked angry, confused and sad.

He wondered what Ijeoma would have said to her. And he also couldnt help but wonder if confronting her had been the best thing to do. Shivani was innocent, why drag her into her mother's mess?

He shrugged unconciously.

What was his business anyway? He had so many things in his mind and he wondered what had dragged him towards Shivani's room in the first place.

As he turned to leave, he heard his name. He turned and saw her standing close to him. She looked angry in her rugged jean, white sleeveless top with her headset around her neck.

'what were you doing?' Her voice was plain.

'nothing. Just wanted to check up on you'

'just wanted to check up on me or wanted to see if i already took in the nonsense your sister said to me few minutes ago?'

He tried to feign surprise 'what nonsense?'

'dont tell me crap Dike! Because you sure know what the hell i'm talking about. My mother would never do such a thing to your mother. My mum isnt a homebreaker. Not a betrayer. Not a LovePeddler as your sister called her!' Tears welled up in her angry eyes.

'my sister called your mum a LovePeddler?'

'she did' She swallowed 'what proof do you both have against my mother? That crazy video! For all i know, it might just be a misunderstanding!'

He tried to contain his anger. Why would Ijeoma call Freda a slut before Shiv? That was wrong. She had no right to do that. He was going to speak to her 'bout it.

'i apologise on her behalf. She should never have said that to you. She might have just been angry'

'do you believe?'

'believe what?'

'that my mother's sleeping with your dad?'

He shrugged 'its not something new under the sun'

'so you believe?'

He hated the tears that were streaming down her beautiful face. His heart broke. It was a feeling new to him. It wasnt as if he loved seeing women cry. But he was indifferent 'bout it. But seeing Shivani cry that instant, he felt so angry at himself. He should have stopped Ijeoma on time.

'i'm sorry' He muttered fighting the temptation to draw her into his arms.

'there's nothing to be sorry about. Everyone is entitled to his/her thoughts' She backed him.

He moved an inch closer 'have you called your mum?'

'why should i?'

'just to hear her own side of the story. I agree with you. It might just be one big misunderstanding'

'very funny. Now you're trying to be the good person here when in your heart you already painted my mum black because of one silly video' She sniffed.

He yielded to the temptation of holding her from behind. He held her arms which she had folded akimbo. She jerked a little 'should we find out about the truth together?'

'there's no need. Because you already believe what your sister forced into your mind!' She snapped wriggling herself from his arms.

'just dont cry anymore. I hate seeing you cry' He said softly.

She turned to stare at him and their eyes locked.

He drew her closer to himself and tilted his head closer to hers. Shivani's heart skipped several beats. Was he going to kiss her? She swallowed.
For some reasons she couldnt understand, she wasnt fighting it.

And then subconciously, she found herself closing her eyes and pouting her lips.

Their lips drew closer and closer and just when their lips were about meeting with each other....

The door opened and Dora barged in...

Tradition.....

Mia had always known that her mother had always favoured Shivani right from childhood. Shivani was the apple of her mother's eyes, she knew that.

Everything Shivani wanted, she got. Shivani wanted to study abroad and their mother quickly complied. But when it got to her turn, their mother had quickly objected.

Her mother had always known just how much she loved Dike, even though she never mustered courage to let him know. Her mother knew that she would have eagerly jumped at the opportunity of being Dike's wife even after she knew and heard of how badly he treated his wives.

Her mother knew all this but still insisted that Shivani become his wife after the Igwe and Lolo had paid them a visit and requested that one of her daughters got married to Dike.

At first she had been happy thinking her mother would choose her. But when her mother chose Shivani, she had been heartbroken. And not totally surprised.

Getting married to Dike, the most handsome man of Umuzulu was her dream. And she was going to get him no matter what.

'kobo for your thoughts sis' Shivani's voice shook her from her reverie as she fell on the empty space beside her 'what were you thinking?'

'uhm? No...nothing. Just thinking about random things' She lied with a smile.

'random things like?' her sister propped her chin with her left hand 'boy wahala?'

'what are you talking about? Go jhor!' She backed her sister with a playful smile on her face.

'tell me about the guy who's captured my sister's heart, tell me, tell me' her elder sister giggled.

'there's no guy Shivani, stop teasing me'

'you obviously have a boyfriend now right? You're all grown up! See your busts, they are even bigger than mine now' Shivani teased.

Mia's cheeks flushed in embarrassment 'quit now Shivani, please!'

'okay okay' Shivani said raising her hands in mock surrender laughing 'i quit. But that doesnt mean you wont tell me about the guy sooner or later. Meanwhile, i got some stuffs for you. Come on, lets go to my room'

At the thought of that, Mia's face brightened with a smile. Everytime Shivani visited home which was once in a long while, she made sure she got things for her. Shivani was very nice to her, little wonder it was hard hating her despite the fact that she took everything she ever wanted away from her.

'i love this gown!' Mia gasped covering her mouth with her left hand as she beheld the cream-coloured sleeveless knee-length gucci dress. It was wonderful! She had never seen anything as beautiful as it.

'do you like it?'

'like it? Are you fucking kidding me now Shiv? I practically love this dress! Thanks Shiv' She hugged her elder sister tightly 'i really love it, i swear!'

'and this shoes? I especially got them for you. I dont know if it'd be your size though'

Mia gazed at the gold-coloured shoes. It was beautiful too, Jimmy Choo collection. She slipped her feet into it and it fitted perfectly 'perfect sis!'

Her sister laughed as she brought out three brands of perfumes, wristwatches, jewelries, bags, makeups, lingerie and so many other accessories for her sister. Mia couldnt help but marvel at it all, her sister had excellent choices.

'i think we would have to go on a picnic tomorrow. We would go with Ify and Chichi, i really missed those two' Shivani giggled.

'and i hope you got stuffs for them as well? Because they'll cut off your head if you dont' Mia joked.

'of course i did. I also got stuffs for mother but...she's obviously mad at me. I dont know how i'm going to earn her forgiveness. I really provoked her' Shivani said suddenly feeling remorseful.

Mia fought the urge to scoff and roll her eyes.

Mother's girl, always wanting to be on her goodside. She snorted silently.

But she forced a smile 'you shouldnt worry too much. You know mother's like that. She loves controlling everyone's lives. You shouldnt listen to her. Get married to the man you love, Dike or whatever should go to hell!' She goaded.

'i know, i know mum loves controlling people's live but she's our mum. She wouldnt want me to get married to that man if it wouldnt be for my own good'

Her brows went up immediately 'so what are you trying to say now? What about Choudhary? Are you going to get married to Dike?'

'i didnt exactly say that' Shivani swallowed 'but i just want mum to be happy. She's been through so much for us you know'

'so what are you trying to say in essence? That you're going to throw your fiance away and get married to man who's not going to make you happy? Really Shivani?' She couldnt believe this. Shivani must never get married to Dike. No! Dike was hers, and hers alone.

'dont make it sound that bad' Shivani pouted.

'if thats what you're planning to do, then i'm highly disappointed in you Shiv. I never expected you to stoop so low!' She packed the things her sister got for her and proceeded to leave the room.

'Mia? Mia? Come back please' Her sister called but she ignored her.

She had to do something.

So guys, maybe we should put our heads together in this matter.
Y'all are my family in this forum and whatever problem i have, i share with y'all.
So:
My husband's suggested Gabriel and Gabriella for the twins.
My husband's mother suggested Churchill for the boy and Beverly for the girl.
I suggested Crystal for the girl and Christian for the boy.
So my people abeg, this has been on debate since Monday.
Please oo, which do you feel its better because i personally feel Crystal and Christian is best.
Which do u guys like the most abeg? Everything lies on me now to choose... And now it lies on y'all. Thank u.
And while also choosing, dont forget to drop a comment 'bout the story.
God bless ya
