Hi Obitee69,
You can apply as the primary applicant with the required work experience, then your wife as the accompanying spouse will have to write IELTS exams and evaluate her qualifications to support. You do not lose any points if accompanying spouse has no work experience.
obitee69:
Pls folks kindly advice. I currently have over 4years experience in the bank but my wife is a fresh grad. Does it matter if we both submit our application as FSW?

Thanks for your response. I will read all I can about the Atlantic immigration Pilot Scheme. Who knows. [Spoue has a sibling in Canada. Looking forward to those points too. quote author=40manlappy post=56467824]

I assume that you have at least 3 years of experience. With your spouse's IELTS band of 6, a remark to 7.5 in Writing may not make any difference so you can let go of possible guilt feeling.

However, if your spouse had gotten LSRW 8777, you would have crossed to 402 and possibly be eligible for Ontario PNP. Ontario plans to do weekly issuance of NOIs under the Human Capital Priorities stream but it requires a minimum of 400 points. Maybe you should encourage him to prepare well and rewrite IELTS to get a minimum of 8777.

If you have a sibling in Canada, you could also get an additional 15 marks starting from June 6 which will bump your current score to 412 but it is advisable that you start researching PNPs actively because CRS cutoff may start heading north from June.

Watch out for Nova Scotia PNP when it reopens but don't limit yourself to just the aforementioned. You can also Google Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program. All the best![/quote]

Wow, 2 weeks after submission, that's great. I am the younger one, lols. I'll do some psyching, perhaps he can redo the IELTS. my sister did the OINP and didn't hear back until a year after. She's been nominated now though. I didn't have much confidence in it before.

Beem4cupid:
Your spouse can be the principal applicant if she is younger ,has required experience and can also ace IELTS like you. Look at that possibility. If you guys can get atleast 400, OINP is an alternative. My friend got nominated less than 2 weeks after submission.

Can you please explain how the OINP works and how I can apply for that.

Hello good people, I've written ielts with l7s7r6.5w6.5 I'm 32 with a baby and married but I don't want to go with my husband for now. I have a master's degree. What are my chances. I have gone through previous posts but I want my case treated specifically. Consider me your junior and inexperienced in all this. Thanks

Use the CRS tool to assess yourself: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

I used your details, assumed 3 years experience and selected NO for Question 2) ii. Will your spouse or common-law partner come with you to Canada? CRS Score was 367, which is not high enough for current EE cut-off trends.
Summary: You need to improve your IELTS result and aim for SLRW 7877, which should increase CRS score to 453.

Mind you, with spouse not accompanying, your POF still has to be for 3 people (i.e. CAD18,825).

Thank u for your time and d response. How long does the medical last?

Secondly, how long can we stay back in Naija after being issued d visa before we travel?
medical lasts one year. I am not sure of the stay back bit , but I think you are expected to do at least 3 out of 5 years so your or can be renewed ( not sure of this info though)

Hello everyone, Thank you very much for all the contributions. Reading this thread has been enlightening.

I will please like to have some clarifications

1. in the submission of my POF, do I have to also upload the extract from oanda as at the date of submission to show the conversion amount as at that date?

2. If I have to, will it be the oanda extract as at the month end of my bank statement, or as at the date of submission of e-Apr. What I mean is that If i have a bank statement as at 30 Apr and I am submitting e-APr as at 5th May, the oanda conversion rate, will it be as at 5th May or 30 Apr

3. My NYSC was done with a government establishment. Should I put that NYSC year as government or employment? If I put it as government, will attaching my nysc discharge certificate suffice as I learnt that putting NYSC as government might lead to longer processing times.

Thankyou

For the gurus in the house, is it advisable using an agent to apply for Canadian Immigration? or one should do it by oneself?

No, he is also considering using their service due to the busy schedule of his job... Think I rather jst fro it by myself if there's no positive review from using immigration agents...

You can use tbills as proof but you need to prove the source. If its a reinvestment, attach the certificate you got previously but if it is a fresh investment, you will need to show atleast 6 months statement except ur bank is willing to give you a 6 months average balance on your account before you invested in the tbills in the bank reference letter. Hope this helps.

Hello,

I know it is normal for you to be sad but please don't be. Rather, think of the next course of action to do. I will suggest two options for you.

First, calculate your CRS score, if it is above 400 and if you have done your ECA, then create a profile and enter the pool BUT while in the pool, start preparing for another IELTS in advance (that will be plan B) in case you don't get ITA before June.

The second option is you can request for a remark. However, I learnt that it is always difficult to get an increase in score in both listening and reading (though I think I read about someone that got an increase on this thread) but if you know you want to try your luck, then you can request for a remark.

If I were you, I will definitely go with the first option (but also dependent on whether you have done your ECA or not).

Goodluck.

Thank you my dear. I have done the calculation it is 411. Pls what is ECA. I'm new to all this. I want to us a friends dollar account to pay for WES on Monday but I've heard Wes takes time. Which agency is faster apart from WES? Transcript from my school takes a week.

Check ur CRS by changing d 6.5 in Reading to 7 let's see Wat u will get. If it improves ur score significantly, then consider applying for remark of reading while u await ur ECA from WES or IQAS depending on which u choose.

Thanks. Just to clarify. So the previous certificate will serve as the source and there will be no need for a bank statement if it's really investment
