The EPAs are not good for us for very grave reasons. Too bad almost all the countries have obliged. Kenya was shut off the EU market for sometime before she got back on the table and accepted the unfair trade deal. I can only hope for Africa's inability to enforce laws to survive this onslaught

Yes read the article carefully, it says ECOWAS cannot go into it without the signature of regional powerhouse Nigeria. In another place it clearly says that ECOWAS would not be strong enough to go into the deal without Nigeria, and the deal would have to be dissolved, just because it is without one country's signature, the failed state for that matter.

So if Ghana bows to pressure, they will lose Nigeria as a trading partner and vice versa. That's why Ghana is mounting pressure on Nigeria. Kenya also became a signatory first in East Africa and had to beg other East African markets (countries) to join so save her trade.

That is the level of control that Europe still wields over Africa. Nigeria and ECOWAS is doing a great thing by resisting. But a time will come when she will join to save her economy from collapse once her important trade partners become signatories.

So they are giving that much aid? Just shows how desperate Europe has gotten after the recent recession. I've also noted an increase in precious metal "discoveries" all over Africa (of course, owned by European companies.)

Any country that sign such an Agreement has officially sold their country, did you know that after signing the EPA, the country will have to consult the EU for any trade policy that the country wants to implement.

Nigeria has nothing, absolutely nothing to gain from such an agreement.
