you can choose oau as your first choice and choose a course like linguistics, or literature in english but the best bet are courses with not very many applicants and low cut off points.
last year cut off for linguistics
merit 58.9

lagos 51.2

ondo 50.5

oyo 56.0
elds 51.6
literature in english was pegged at 50.

Last year cut-off mark was 76.75 and there is probability of it increasing this year..

O'level is playing a bigger role in the so-called point grading system

I even heard of someone who missed medicine last year at UI with a jamb score of 320..


And a friend of mine with "256" was admitted last year,she narrowly beat the cut-off mark with an aggregate score of "77" but her o'level "was outside the world"

Hello. I Dont know much about their point grading system, but here is what I know.



They give preferential treatment to people from the north more. If your name is chukwudi or gbolahan and you have 85% and an Ahmed or Abubakar has 65%. They'll pick Ahmed and Abubakar before you. It happened to my brother (although this was about 6 years ago).



I also think if you're not a notherner, its easier to get into their MBBS through their predegree program, if you do well.

And also their campus is pretty cool. I think its the biggest in Nigeria. But their female hostels stink. Dont know about male hostels though.

Let me start by asking whether your state of origin is a northern state or north central.

ABU Zaria, just like Unilag, FUTA and OAU, has catchment areas, which are states in the northern part of the country. This gives you an edge if you come from the north. I didn't follow up her admission screening last year, so i don't know her modality for the screening.

Try and get the statistics of candidates that put in for your course last year and check if it isn't that competitive. Also try and get the kind of modality that was used last, then you can calculate your chances with that.

Life in campus; i don't have any idea about this sir
