It's the law in Lagos. Kidnappers get the death sentence.

Life imprisonment if the victim is released unharmed but death sentence if the victim dies in the hands of the kidnappers.

Sorry is bad ooooo. Deserves all his punishment ooooo.

And even more for having that mansion in Lagos.

But the mansion and other mansions still came from IGBOS

Remember all his victims were IGBOS and they paid in DOLLARS.

Their son will leave home with one singlet and shorts but will return with jeep. Instead of them to query his source of wealth, they will be dancing, worshipping him.

He operated in Lagos and was caught in Lagos so he will be tried in a Lagos court using the criminal code in the state. In Lagos if you are convicted of kidnapping the sentence is death!

The Inspector-General’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT) led by ACP Abba Kyari had on Saturday confirmed his arrest saying Evans is one of the most wanted suspected kidnappers in Lagos and Nigeria. Kyari, who confirmed the arrest said the suspect was arrested at his Magodo residence in Lagos.

“IRT headquarters in Abuja is celebrating the arrest of the most wanted brilliant and notorious high profile kidnapper in Nigeria.

“He has collected several billions of Naira as ransom in the last seven years as the kingpin of kidnappers. “He was arrested at about 1.00p.m on Saturday in his residence in Magodo Estate, Lagos,” Kyari said.

The last victim of Evans was Mr Danatus Dunu who was kidnapped in Ilupeju February 2017 and fortunately the man escaped from the Igando House where Evans kept him with his boys last month.

The police must make sure he's kept safe and well protected. He must not be hastily silenced, untill he exposes his accomplices (both in the police force and elsewhere). A kidnapper of this repute could'nt have been acting for this long without inside help from the force.
That should be the normal way to handle investigations, but unfortunately that's not the case in Nigeria. If he worked with certain powerful people during his reign, he'll be silenced before he can reveal their names. Let's learn from what happened to the Yusuf guy that started Boko Haram, he was silenced before he could name his sponsors.

Ha ha the plainclothes officer looks mad as a muffug, and ready to bust a cap on Mr. Evans, if he so much as THINKS about trying to run for it.

Mr Business Suit seems to be echoing the immortal words of Clint "Dirty Harry" Eastwood in that memorable movie scene when, as Clint cocked back the hammer of his 44 Magnum, he asked the bad guy if he was feeling lucky enough to "go ahead and make my day", before then blowing the fool away when he did try to make a false move.

On a serious note, there best way to permanently keep this horrible creature out of circulation would of course be to take him out back of the police station and use him for target practice, until nothing is left but splattered red jelly, which can then be flushed down the toilet conveniently.

That bastard is highly connected, very jazzed up and very rich. Best thing is take him to his village where he has been displaying wealth for years and hang him in public, televise it for people to see before he bribes somebody with 20 million and escapes abroad.

I say kill him fast NOTHING go happen

My dear relieve it.... Only those without money go to prison in Nigeria...you see those hungry armed robbers you see online or on TV arrested ? If they have enough money you will see they are pretty chilled about going to prison ....
The Nigerian prison system is corrupt , the police are worse or don't you know they also get weapons and contacts from the police ??

Is it not on this same Nairaland you read of a notorious robber and rapist of the badoo gang who terrorises ikorodu who was arrested, in a sane could try with the overwhelming evidence on would have expected him being charged to court and prison he was ..
But it's also here that we read he was nabbed again in ikorodu and but to death by the crowd ad they k ew if police arrest him again he will be released again

Nigeria is gone

At all.
Let me Explain further
I know personally a rich man's son who we all went to University together .
He did something terrible now he was sentenced to 10 years in prison
Dude is in America as we speak on paper he is in prison but real life e is in the states
That's the Nigerian justice system
If you have money you are good to do whatever but like I said it gets tricky if there's government interest in your case even at that though you will only turn up before public appearance.
Wait think of it what do we actually monitor properly in Nigeria ?
From the police officers who are told not to be on the street collecting bribes everyday to the soldiers who kill civilians ?
So how do you expect a judge to go-to pricing to check if someone he or she sentenced is really serving ?
Is it the poorly paid wanders that won't accept bribes to let the person out ?

My dear the only criminals who receive justice in Nigeria are the poor ones or those killed
