First of all I didn't say all that. I only gave the details of your summary for him that seem not to give more insight.

To me, what I get from it is, he was talking about the foundation of the relationship. That God accepted you just the way you are. He loved you whilst you're still a sinner. And as a sinner, you can approach him any day, anytime, anywhere, in whatever state you are and that forgiveness is instant wherever you are.

He loved you while and when you never loved Him. Shouldn't it then be normal for you to love him back? A sinner who ask God for forgiveness right now and dies a second later, is a success in God's kingdom. What work did he do? Alright, I think he worked because all he did was to run to an already open arms of God to accept God's proposal. That's like an expression of faith

His English was quite simple compared to all those semiotics to me. So it was all about, what you have to do before God will decide to have a relationship with you or before He decides to love you and the answer is nothing. He already loves you even before you think of doing anything for Him or not.
