fistonati: Many Nigerians are also criminals. A lot of the young men are cultists but most Young people are Evangelical Christians and devout MuslimS. Buhari does not tell lies if he can help it. They have kidnapped and scammed many people I know in Nigeria and money rituals are many. You have to take the good with the bbsd but no telling lies. 3 Likes |

I love Isha Sesay so much! One day, I'm gonna be interviewed by her for a good work done, benefitting millions around the globe. Her morning newscasting is the best for me. Yea, I like Amara Walker also. She's really pretty. Amarachi lol. What she just did is called, good gesture. 1 Like |

fastgyal: If u are a doctor trying to defend ur profession in this country, clap for your self. Nigerian doctors are medical marketers, they really don't care about their patient that much. If u no get money for this country, death will be faster n painful. If that CNN woman no get money and good human face doctor be sure the story would have bn so sad. I am looking forward to the day when I will be asked to present evidence against Nigerian doctors(those miserable quacks). 1 Like |

almarthins: I believe that environment and culture matter in anything. Nigerian professionals in IT, healthcare, engineering, education and more do great abroad. Why do Nigerian doctors become very good & blend into the advanced medical system in the West? Because it is more satisfying if you can do your job better and make a difference. Given the tools: training, encouragement, funding, impeccable facilities, etc. Medical care is a very expensive. But Nigeria is investing too little in it. Therefore moral & quality suffer. UK that is one-third of Nigerian population, Healthcare budget is £133.1 billion , well over N61 trillion Naira or over 8 times Nigeria's total federal budget. Medical profession in Nigeria is very challenging and further training is insufficient. Frustration is what you see manifest in Nigerian doctors at home. Coming across as rude, uncaring, etc. Sure doctors can do better. Everyone needs to accept that patients/their loved ones are not responsible for the problems of funding that we have. 1 Like |

fastgyal:what? 120 urologist? A little over 600 paediatrician?(altho those ones fail residents like it's nothing). These figures are damn scary & unfortunately it's gonna get worse cos medical folks out here dont even want residency again or @least not in 9ja cos they feel it's waste of life. BTW, how come you have these facts & figures? |

AreaFada2:/ If you like pay Nigerian doctors and nurses a billion naira per month, the attitude will be the same or even worse because they will all turn to "oga and madam" overnight. Everything comes down to the nonchalant attitude of Nigerians to every thing in life. They do better abroad bc the environment does not permit incompetence and could be very unforgiving. It boils down to lack of supervisory oversight and a culture of ineptitude that prevail in Nigeria. \ 2 Likes |

fistonati: BestySam: This singular deed does not detract from the fact that Nigeria is one of the worst countries in the world. It is an unlivable society fit only for criminals. No sane human being would willingly want to live in it if they had a choice. 1 Like |

InvertedHammer:Funding is not just about pay. Training is a big part of it. Training is not just about clinical skills, but also doctor-patient relationship skills, ethical aspects, etc. Note that better funding will also help retain more qualified doctors to improve doctor/patient ratio, improve workload, treatment outcome, etc. Yes, we need attitudinal change in all facets of life. In the West you will find a medic that has won many scientific accolades/awards, appears on TV to present medical programs but still does his routine clinical & teaching work in hospital. No fuss, no ego stuff. Despite being respected internationally in his field & financially very buoyant. We will get there. Eventually. |

i hope we wont later hear her account was hacked because even though we have "very good" doctors we also have a lot of bad hospitals most of which are filled with careless nurses and unskilled doctors eg: a family friend lost her life while trying to give birth to her baby due to over dose of anesthesia which was wrongly administered and this happened in a very well known hospital . |

AreaFada2: Ego is the most important thing to Nigerians. Money is secondary. They pursue money just to feed their ego. Why do you think they pursue education just for the title? Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barak and Michelle Obama are all attorneys. But people concentrate on their works for humanity than their profession as lawyers. If they were to be Nigerians, if you miss the appendages to their names, all hell will break loose. Nigerians are not serious people. They excel abroad because they have oyibo supervisors that don't have any room for their shenanigans. Give the same Nigerian a position of authority in Nigeria and his Nigerianness rears its ugly head. It is still centered on dearth of oversight. / 2 Likes |

The doctors 1. probably knew she was an ibternational journalist and failure to do their job will cast them in bad light or 2. She parted with huge sums of money to get that care I can bet that she went to a private clinic. |

Caustics:That's because u don't know the gap that exist between Isha Sessay and channels reporters. The mere fact that an international journalist like her could commend Nigerian doctors and nurses is enough reason for others to start bringing their sick ones to Nigeria thereby earning us some foreign exchange. |
