Some days back, I witnessed what a robbery feels like. You see, the BurgerKing location where I work has a large parking lot shared by other stores. One of them is a filling station/grocery store. One evening, while we were in the Kitchen toiling our butts off, we heard two loud bangs go off, we dismissed it as fireworks. Not until a customer in the lobby (the place you can stay to eat your food after buying), screamed that the filling station right next to us was getting robbed! You could see the panic in the eyes of everyone present, calls were made to the police, and a squad car responded in less than a minute (no jokes). The robbers abandoned the robbery and their get away car and tried to take off on foot, it was just like an watching an action movie unfold. The cops, noticing that there were other stores there, decided not to shoot at them, and started chasing them on foot too. By then, other patrol cars had pulled up. In no time, the boys were apprehended and walked back to the patrol car in handcuffs. 32 Likes 2 Shares

The fourth of July (USA independence day) is no joke over here. These people don't joke with it one bit, (why would they? When the government is working and giving them stuff to be proud of). That day was declared a public holiday, but sadly, I had to go to work. Well, here's how I spent my day. 18 Likes

One thing I've noticed about the ladies over here is that they are more open-minded If a lady likes you, stepping up and telling you how she feels is no big deal over here, unlike in naija where someone would be dying for you and would be ignoring you Another thing I noticed is that the baby-mama culture is quite normal here. ladies as young as 17 are dropping babies anyhow, and it's no big deal. One of the ladies at the store where I work is just 19 and she has two kids already Each time the "do you have a girlfriend?" question pops up, I side-step it, I no wan become baby-daddy biko. Im too young for that 44 Likes 4 Shares |

I got issued a ticket. When I procured and put up my new license plate number, I did not put up the plate expiration sticker, that was the reason for the ticket. When I showed it to my mum, she said I should give them a call and contest it, considering the fact that I had the sticker all along. 8 Likes 1 Share
