Vaccines have to be preserved under specific temperatures, but usually people don't do that and they lose their potency atimes. Poor NEPA situation doesn't help matters.

The boy should have had at least 4 doses by the end of second week with a total of 5 doses after one month.

Each vaccine costs like 3K at least, last time I checked years ago. Meaning total of at least 15k will be needed. Probably costs more now. He may not have been able to afford more than 1 dose.
The vaccine history of the dog is also important. Was the dog vaccinated? Did the dog die later after the bite incident.

The dog that bit that boy had rabies. it must have been dead by now.
See, if a dog bites a person, First take anti tetanus. Then he/she can go and meet the owner and ask and also SEE the certificate of the dog being vaccinated for anti rabies. The vaccine usually lasts for a year. If it is vaccinated, no cause for alarm.
If not the dog should be monitored for 2 weeks. if during that time nothing happens to the dog then the dog is not rabid BUT if the dog dies during this period, RUN RUN RUN to the hospital to get shots for anti rabies. If not YOU WILL DIE.
This boy will definitely die.
