He will die Pity, once the rabies virus get to this stage the patient mostly likely will die soon. Even in developed countries nothing much can be done at this stage. Meds should have been started soon after the initial bite from a rabid dog. Survival rate here is about 1%

a howl or bark is plausible as rabies causes increased saliva production and speech difficulty. These could make a speech attempt sound like barking.

rabies is a mental disease so sufferers can exhibit strange symptoms. the shocking one for me is having physical pain in throat from the sight of water.

In the video the doctor said he supposedly got his vaccines after the incident. Maybe those vaccines were fake or expired.

It may not be fake, it may not even be expired, but might have lost its potency.

Vaccines have to be preserved under specific temperatures, but usually people don't do that and they lose their potency atimes. Poor NEPA situation doesn't help matters.

The boy should have had at least 4 doses by the end of second week with a total of 5 doses after one month.

Each vaccine costs like 3K at least, last time I checked years ago. Meaning total of at least 15k will be needed. Probably costs more now. He may not have been able to afford more than 1 dose.
The vaccine history of the dog is also important. Was the dog vaccinated? Did the dog die later after the bite incident.
