Which philosophers ? The greatest minds and philosophers in the history of mankind all acknowledged the existence of God . And they contributed immensely to theistic philosophy .

We are talking of geniuses and supergeniuses , not scoffers and yahoos

Lol. Majority of scientists today are atheists or Irreligious.

Then doesn't that simply mean that, there is such thing as a creator and that the world never popped out one day?

Can i have debate with you on this topic again?

I have had an argument with you here before, where you outright failed miserably. But, i don't know how far you have learnt from it tho.
You will still chicken out as usual.

I don't care about your anecdotes. Prayers have been put to test, by the Templeton foundation no less and it came up short. You can process that information anyhow you see fit.

Really ? Provide evidence for this.
See me see wahala.
Is it a must be believe in a god or supreme being?
Deists reject miracles, I went a step further and rejected the ridiculous idea of a supreme being. End of fuckkking story.
Deal with it.

I also reject the ridiculous idea of a book having an author, and codes being developed by a programmer. I have seen eternal books , and eternal codes . Everything came by randomness and chance even though it is stupid and idiotic to even posit such Rubbish! Ridiculous! Anyone who thinks otherwise is insane !

Someone OBVIOUSLY did not read through the article or even understand it

Because clearly 51 percent of the AMERICAN scientists believe in God or a higher power . That means more AMERICAN scientists admit that an intelligent mind is behind the existence of the universe

Stop claiming deists. I read the link, Mr lie lie.

The picture is clear.

When you remove 18% (peeps who believe in a higher power) from the rest God believers, you have 33%.

So it is as such:

Deists 18%
Other theists 33%
Atheists 41%
N/A 7%.

There is a multitude of research that shows that intelligent people are more likely to be atheists

In my own view, I don't think so, but that was what your buddy princessebuka implied.

Unanswered prayers for patients was a small part of the reason why I became an atheist.
How people tend to view their unanswered prayers is up to them, but I'm definitely not following a practice that it's success average is no better than chance.

So can you then answer my question. I asked if your claim that prayers were not answered in your hospital is applicable to all other hospitals worldwide?

How people tend to view their prayers be it answered or not SHOULD be your concern if there was an unequivocal fact of unanswered prayers then that would make your claim and one of your steps to atheism absolute am I correct?

Jack please I beg you. Take your notorious inability for understanding simple statements elsewhere.

DEISM IS THEISM BUT WITH A PHILOSOPHICAL APPROACH UNLIKE RELIGIOUS THEISM.

IT IS THEISM BECAUSE DEISTS BELIEVE IN GOD BUT REJECT HIS WORLDLY INVOLVEMENT.

i keep begging you to read in such a way which would enable understanding to get to you.

Is there no atheist who is proud enough to declare in clear terms how he got his epiphany and chose to switch to atheism?

If you can scrutinise everything and everyone else surely you wouldn't mind a bit of that scrutiny yourself would you? Except you just wish to be dodgy.

Well, when I made that thread, it went "viral" amongst my colleagues who recognized the my moniker and testimonies were shared about how prayers failed their patients too. But they still chose to believe in god despite the fact, So, it's applicable.

So what you are trying to say is that your "colleagues " all said prayers never worked in their hospitals as well? How many were these colleagues of yours who gave you cause to term it "viral"?

I just did a quick sweep of the thread in question where you said it went viral and your "colleagues " (implying fellow doctors) confirmed your stories.

I am sorry but you do realise that you exaggerated a tad bit.

All I saw were fellow atheists and not fellow colleagues (doctors) who confirmed your theory. Plus I also saw others who also said prayers did work. What would you make of their claims?

Would you ask for proof of their claims since you didn't offer any of yours?

Would you call their claims trash since it did not agree with your stories?

So, is a story going viral only restricted to Nairaland?
A thread can't be discussed on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, BBM and Telegram?

If people claimed that prayers were answered, good for them. I'm not believing in any supernatural method that can't work better than chance though.

Just get to the point already if you have one.

Your reference was to your alleged "viral" thread where you declared that PRAYERS DO NOT WORK and you told Dr 90210 kind of stories to buttress that.

Did you not say Prayers do not work?

Assuming you never said prayers "never" worked it would mean 2 things.

1) you are not sure of your comment of prayers not working (so why make that declaration in an alleged "viral" post.

2. You are playing to the gallery .

This is an extract from that thread below. Words in gold penned by your own hands.

"I'm yet to see a single case where prayers changed the Patient's fortunes. If I see one, trust me, I'll post it here."

Why then did you just lie that you NEVER said PRAYER NEVER WORKS?

You are an acclaimed doctor right? Would you believe a natural method when a medical specialist has exhausted all available medical knowledge on you being the patient in this scenario and then tells you that you have a barely 3 months to live since medically there is absolutely nothing they can do.

Would you believe that doctor since he just left medicine and dropped to CHANCE?

You who are also a specialist know that indeed there is nothing else that can be done. Would you believe this doctors prognosis or is it different from your position about prayer and chance?

Lies . Doctors affirm to the efficacy of prayers .

The doctors I know are very religious . Plus Every time a story validating the belief in spirits and afterlife show up on daily mail UK , top comments are from mainly medical practitioners who attest to the veracity of the stories because they share these uncanny experiences with their patients .

If prayers work there will be no need for doctors. The bible recommended prayers and not doctors for people.

◄ James 5:14 ►
Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

The bible recommends prayers by the church elders for the sick. No where does it tell people to go to the hospitals and see doctors for healing. People go to the hospitals and refuse to follow this inane biblical injunction because nothing fails like prayers.

Why tell these lies?

Why could you not post extracts of their comments as proof of your viral claim to buttress your thread. So I should just take your word for it?
