POGBA: WE ALWAYS WANT TO BEAT MAN CITY

What are your thoughts on beating City and the performance?

"You know it is a derby. Whether it is a friendly game or not, you want to win against Manchester City and show that you are ready for the test. It is the third game today and we have to carry on like that. The winning mentality, we have to keep it."

This was the third match of the tour against quality opposition – how did you feel out there?

"Of course we felt much better. The legs are better for everyone. Now we have more minutes so we have to get ready. More and more we will push towards the league, and the European Super Cup game as well. We have to keep playing and getting more minutes to get fit."

Can you talk us through our second goal by Marcus Rashford?

"The second goal is very well played by Micki [Henrikh Mkhitaryan]. We had this counter attack a few times and the goal came easily. It is a great goal, great work by Micki like I said, and when Romelu has the ball on the left to keep Rashford free. He is alone in front of the keeper and he scores."

How important is it that our strikers are scoring goals on this tour?

"Last season we missed a lot of chances and we need to score goals. When we have chances we need to kill. A 1-0 win and three points are very important in the Premier League and we know that. So now we have to start scoring goals. We have done it today and we have to keep this mentality."

What happened with your chance to score in the second half?

"It was a nice chance for me. I didn't score, but I have to keep trying. You always say ‘shoot, shoot’. The ball came to me and I shot. It just touched the feet of the guy and I missed, but I will keep trying."

We enjoyed your dancing feet to keep the ball from Fernandinho…

"It was at the end and I wanted to keep the ball. Nobody was around so I just took him on. The most important thing is to not lose the ball and not let the team go into contact [situations]. So I took him on and crossed for the team."

You must hope that you won’t hit the bar so many times this season?

"Hopefully this season will be more on my side. But if I don't score and we still win then I will be the most happy."

If the *Game of Thrones* factions were English football teams

*House Targaryen(Man Utd):*
Once a great force, brought down for few years now. Hint of a comeback but it's crazy world now so struggling with comeback.

*House Baratheon(Liverpool):*
Whenever they try, they fail.

*House Stark(Arsenal):*
Trying to achieve everything honorably, in that process getting everyone killed & lose everything.

*House Lannister(Chelsea):*
They get things done, no matter how ugly it is. Biggest cunts....but guaranteed success. Irrelevant without money.

*House Tyrell(Man City):*
Has buttload of money but no one gives a damn about them, got no fans.

*House Bolton(Leicester):*
Did well & dominated for a season but now beaten to ashes. In couple of years people wont even know who they were.

*White Walkers(Spurs):*
Not here for throne or anything. Just to put the pressure on all houses.
Starks making sure they're in behind the wall.

Three things we learned from Manchester United vs Manchester City game

Lukaku and Rashford can work

Most fans thought that the arrival of Romelu Lukaku would further relegate Marcus Rashford to the bench, but it seems that the 19-year-old has sufficiently impressed his manager who would be thinking of using the teenager and Lukaku in a front two.

Against City, the pair complemented each other, and helped create a balance. Lukaku’s brawn and physicality was matched by Rashford’s brilliance and technical ability, which ensured that both strikers got goals, and it could be a firm fixture going into next season.

Victor Lindelof will get better

Lindelof had a shocker in his first game in a United shirt against LA Galaxy, but against Sergio Aguero he stood tall. The 22-year-old Swede was bought for huge money from Benfica and is expected to form a mouth-watering partnership with Eric Bailly. He was very good on the ball, making tidy passes, getting good tackles in and communicating well with his other defenders.

A good pre-season will be good for his confidence and he must be another proof that Jose Mourinho rarely gets his defensive signings wrong.

Mkhitaryan will be key next season

Against City in the Premier League last season, Henrikh Mkhitaryan was atrocious on his debut and was not seen in a United shirt until October as Mourinho questioned his adaptability and attitude. However, he regained form and was one key player as United enjoyed a solid end to the season.

Against the same opponents yesterday, he looked sharp and that bodes well going into next season. On his day, he is one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe and will only get better under the tutelage of Mourinho.

Don't take that guy serious, he's an unstable character. Last season, before matches started, he'll be cussing Mourinho as a bastărd and what not; when we're behind or it looked the match will end in draw, he'll be mocking Mourinho supporters and talking about how he's been right all along about Mourinho, but immediately our team scored and eventually won the match, he'll do a 360 degree turnaround to take the glory all in the space of few minutes.d4

Don't take him serious.

BITCH SHUT UP...LAST SEASON WAS A CLOSE disaster...After spending ~200m we finished 6th and lost out on cash prices...i don't like Mou does that mean I shouldn't get behind my team and praise their performance fvcking Bellend...Its obvious you are a selective fool and purposely chose to ignore my posts where I said we shouldn't be judging Mourinho seriously based on our Preseason performances

Manchester United 2-0 Manchester City: Player ratings

David de Gea 7

– Comfortably dealt with a few long range drives. Never looked troubled as Pep Guardiola’s men struggled to penetrate.

Antonio Valencia 7.5

– An intractable force at the back and ominous going forward. The Ecuadorian clearly doesn’t understand the concept of ‘pre-season’.

Victor Lindelof 6.5

– Positioned himself well and looked fluid on the ball; did well to keep Sergio Aguero away from dangerous positions.

Chris Smalling 6

– Simultaneously valiant and foolish, combining moments of bravery with episodes of poor misjudgement, which could have easily culminated in a penalty.

Daley Blind 7

– Looked after the ball really well, always finding teammates and even stretching the pitch with a number of intelligent runs down the line.

Ander Herrera 7

– Without doubt the most energetic midfielder on the pitch. Buzzed around with the kind of verve supporters grew so accustomed to last year.

Paul Pogba 7.5

– A typically classy, untouchable sort of display from the Frenchman. Dwarfed the likes of Yaya Toure and Kevin de Bruyne in terms of sharpness. Will clearly benefit from Lukaku’s runs in behind next season.

Jesse Lingard 6.5

– One of Man United’s busier performers, always looking to stretch Manchester City’s back four but lacked cutting edge at times.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan 7

– Execution wasn’t always there but put Man City on the back-foot whenever he entered their half. Provided a perfectly weighted assist for Rashford.

Marcus Rashford 7.5

– Bombarded both flanks all game and displayed some notable muscle against some of City’s senior figures. Took his goal wonderfully.

Romelu Lukaku 8

– Sent a message to City and indeed the Premier League with another wonderfully taken goal in the first half. Brilliant on the ball and rattled the bar.

Substitutes

Phil Jones 6

– Occasionally struggled with Gabriel Jesus but generally kept City’s attacking frontier at bay. Somehow failed to take three chances in a row from about four yards out.

Matteo Darmian 6.5

– Disciplined, unspectacular but very much in control. The kind of Darmian performance supporters will hope to get used to.

Eric Bailly 6.5

– The Ivorian has hardly broken a sweat throughout pre-season. Made light work of a City attack lacking minutes.

Sergio Romero 6

– Endured a couple of shaky moments but came out with a clean sheet.

Anthony Martial 6

– Displayed plenty of initiative after coming on but couldn’t exercise much influence on the game

Michael Carrick 7

– Another controlled, balanced midfield display. The perfect player to bring on when protecting a lead with 30 minutes left.

Marouane Fellaini 6.5

– Shifted the ball nicely and easily outmuscled a fatigued City midfield. Could have been a greater presence in the box.

Had United lost to City, you wouldn't be wailing it's a Preseason Match, rather you would be making mockery of yourself.

You have the nerve to call someone an id1ot but he writes and elucidates better than you do.

You cannot even type words completely and concisely.

Yet folks who take the pains to type legibly and correctly are termed idi0ts and mor0ns by you who types like you have two thumbs on one hand.

You rush here at every opportunity to call us fo0ls, but your appearance is an ode to stup1dity.

Someday you will say you passed through an institution of learning of some sort, but even nursery school pupils express themselves better than you.

Ogbeni respect yourself.

In case you haven't noticed, you are an attention-seeking mongrel with a low self-esteem. The fact that nobody really cares about you and the fact that you aren't gathering the likes and shares your dumb humor intends to achieve should have been a pointer to your Centrino-powered brain to just give up the asinine trolling.
