Just few friends gathering to witness it. I intend to print fifty invitation cards which I and wifey will have to invite twenty five persons each and I don't expect all to honor it. Who has time and resources to waste in preparing for huge guest

If you're African, that is what our ancestors did until about 70 years ago when church weddings/registry gradually came into fashion. It is the most important. A woman does not fall from the sky, she's someone's daughter.

Who says God does not witness it when the parents/family of the girl gives the bride to you in marriage?

Any self-respecting church/registry will first ensure no impediment from family before conducting a wedding ceremony.

My advse is if you have 100 people in mind, make preparation for anoda 100 (uninvited) guests.

If you are not getting married on a Primary school field or In front of your papa's house then you might b lucky enough to hold your wedding in an event center.

All this girls sha...the will say small here,but when that time comes they will invite alote of people,even their kindergatin and primary schook frnds

I totally love a small intimate wedding guests list as everyone is saying, but we all have failed to realise that the wedding isn't for the would be couple, as Nigerian parents/relative always see it as theirs, and go ahead to over stretch it from the wedding guests list inviting people that the intending couples don't even know thereby stretching the budget and every other logistic involved.

Moderate list is okay...
