Good Morning House, Please i need your assistance on this.
I am filling DS-160 form for my wife and daughter now, she want to give birth in US, we have nobody she will stay with, she will rent a temporary accommodation (in town).

Please at the section "Contact address in US" should i put the hospital address since i can't make reservation now, if yes what about my daughter, will i also use hospital address for her? thanks a lot.

You can use the Doctor's address as you wife's contact or you can book a temporary hotel accommodation using booking .com,you don't have to pay anyone until you show up there, but make sure you cancel 24hrs before the date if you are not going to use the accommodation,If not your debit/credit card will be charged

If baby is due 30th November(EDD is just EDD), conception happened around 9th March, give or take so ,if interview day was 1st June, pregnancy was 12 weeks, give or take a week. Just saying. Before you start calling someone a liar without any evidence
Okay. What if baby is due 1st of November and the interview was last day in June?

Pls I'd rather call a spade its name. Thanks

Good day. Pls I need your advice on my issue. Had a successful interview in June and after that we realized wife was 10 weeks pregnant. (we were not sure because of some pills she used which the doctor said could affect her monthly period. This is our first issue after 5 years of coming together). The issue now is that the visa is tourist visa and no question about pregnancy was asked during interview. We have the plan of giving birth in US and how due date is November. How do you think we can go about it to avoid being turned back. Also, we plan to stay in an hotel in Houston. Please your candid advise would be appreciated.

This story made me laugh. However, even if you were not sure about the pregnancy its best you let the V.O know that you will like to use the visa for birthing during the validity of the visa(whether you were asked or not) as I am sure you would have always had that in mind.
One question, was she asked f she was pregnant and what was her response. It would really look suspicious if she shows up at POE if she shows few months later pregnant and didn't disclose pregnancy at interview. You too tink am na.

I've learnt a lot from here. Thanks to everyone that has contributed to this thread. I've been following this thread since 2015 even before I got married. It was from here I got to know you can state ur intention of giving birth in usa at the point of applying for visa without getting into trouble.

After making up my mind on which city I wanted. I was able to get contact of xydas from someone here. I contacted him and was given a quote. After which he sent me an appointment confirmation which was what I took along to d consulate. He also gave me hospital details.

So dh and I applied by ourselves.

We had our appointment yesterday at 8:15 at lagos consulate

This was the transcript
VO : passports pls
Dh :passed
VO :what's ur relationship (my pp was in my maiden name)
Dh :she's my wife
Vo :what r u going to do in the us
Dh :my wife n I are expecting and going to have our baby in us
VO :how did u get the hospital
Dh :we got a referral to the doc from a family friend and the doc refered us to the hospital
VO: that's in Houston right
Dh: yes
VO: so how much av u budgeted for the entire trip in usd
Dh: 16k plus
VO :have u guys traveled out b4
Dh: I av been to dubai and uk but she hasn't
VO: so what do u do
Dh :responded and explained his duties
VO :okay what do u do madam
Me :responded and I was just trying to explain my duties he says that's okay
VO :ur visas have been approved. Pick up in 3 days. He gave us white paper n circled something and was explaining. Dh was listening. I didn't hear anything again ooo (that stuff is true)

No document was asked for upon we carried a lot sef.
I didn't get to say anything apart from my company name.
In all the truth pays and ask for confidence.

Pls mamas that used delta how did u add your infant to the ticket cos I called and dey said u can't add from nigeria.

Even if she was at 12 weeks gestation, there's no way she won't know. That practically almost the end of the first trimester, bruh!! Period didn't show for three of more months while they were TTC and they didn't take a test?
shrekandfiona is right. They lied about their intent.

This is the kind of feedback that made this thread very educative.

Now all we see is "pls pm me, can i pm you?" asking repetitive questions of which answers are even in the quoted posts cheesy

Not wanting to research and give a feedback in return to grow the thread...

No one is trying to discourage anyone. The message is, if you'd liked before, there was no need for it and to be truthful going forward. Also pointing out that it may be difficult to renew ones visa but by all means, do try! Your story might be different, just try to be truthful going forward

If EDD 30th Nov, LMP is February 23, even if interview is june 1. Means she is 14 weeks gone.

Hi, pls how did u pay for visa on arrival? Cos it says the name of the applicant must be on the card.
olukemiyemi:
Good day people.

I wanted to share my experience has I have gained a lot reading from what other people share on here. This is the second baby I've had in the US. The first was in Virginia, while I stayed in with family in Maryland. Virginia is significantly cheaper depending on your choice but distance was a major challenge for me. This time we decided to do Houston because it was going to be more cost effectve.

I traveled with Turkish airline on May 27th to JFK and spent time with my friends before heading out to Houston. Point of entry was surprisingly easy, I did self check in, printed out a receipt and only thing I was asked was the kind of food I had on me. No questions asked my purpose of visit or my big tummy (I was huge). I was really grateful for that.

I had gone very far with planning for Houston before I noticed in the document one of the doctors sent me that they do not allow VBAC (virginal birth after CS). I found out later that this was a Texas thing, most hospitals will not allow a woman that has had a previous CS try to get birth vaginally. This is my 3rd, I had a VBAC with my second, so I didn't see any reason to have a planned C-Section. We searched for Drs would do VBAC and we found one who uses Ben Taub. The cost estimates was significantly higher than using Oak bend or any of the other cost effective hospitals/doctors. The Dr's fees alone was about $5400 for normal delivery, so I contacted a midwife/birthing center as back up.

I visited both the midwife and the Drs at Ben Taub (they are 5 minutes apart in distance) but we eventually settled for the birthing center because my chances of having a natural delivery and staying within my budget was better. We had Ben Taub as backup in case going to the hospital became necessary.

My baby came on the 12th of July at the birthing center, it was easy and the best birthing experience of my three births. Baby came 2 weeks late and was happy to not have been under any pressure to be induced. Antenatal visits was easy and schedules flexible, service was very personal, midwife came home to check on us after the birth, they had free group prenatal classes and breastfeeding support meetings.

I know people on here have made a valid point of the risk of using birthing centers but for VBAC mums like me, who really want do things naturally and are low risk, its definitely an option. Also a cheaper option if you are low risk.

I got the birth certificate in less than a week, I've got the passport and also got approval for the Nigerian visa on arrival in less than 24 hours. I sent an e-mail with all necessary documents to the immigrations email address (oa@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng) and was very impressed to hear back from them same day.

Can we stop flogging this issue over and over again. Whatever choices we make in life we live with it. Truth or Lie. I don't think it's in anyone's place to castigate and Judge. I keep seeing a lot of that on the thread this days. Posters are asking for advice not judgement. Am sure they know what they have done, they just need a way out not " you lied", "wait till you renew and you are refused. To all who have shared their experiences for us to learn God Bless you. I have learnt a lot more. Will share mine too by God's grace.

Endeavour to convince the POE that you can foot the bills for the entire parole.
Staying in a hotel or rented apartments is ok. I was in your shoes at one time.
I will use address of where I plan to stay if I was you.

hi,

please what is the name of the hospital you used in Virginia.

I dont mind if you send me their contact for follow up with them.

aye88:

Can she do Virginia. Quite close to Maryland. Had my baby in Virginia but stayed in Maryland. Clinton precisely. Distance was about 20mins drive. If she can't, then she can check put PG hospital Maryland. Not as expensive as the other Maryland hospitals. That's about the cheapest as far as Maryland is concerned.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by freshdad: 9:03am On Aug 11, 2017
I still cant understand why we would think we can called cash for free. By now you should know nothing in life is free except Gods' grace. And that was how my sister's host ask them to drop their sons' SSN and they'd get someone to give them $1000 a year on tax returns. I told her to run away and not look back. Told her to change the address where the SSN mail would be received. Please lets stay away from such thoughts, the name Nigeria is already stained out there and things like this would further tarnish the name.
MamaOO:

cheesy cheesy which money do they give citizens? Nothing is free in America. No free money is given. I'm guessing you're talking about the yearly tax returns and if so, no...it's not free money. It's the taxes taken from your paycheck and your purchase every year. Depending on your financial situation, some people get money back and some people actually pay money back to the government.

You're also not entitled to tax returns because you don't live or work in the US. If anybody says to give them your child's SSN for them to claim on their taxes and you get the money, that's tax fraud and if you're caught, both parties will be made to pay back the money gotten and may also face jail time.

You're not supposed to have recourse to public funds on a B visa.

Good day diranseun,

VO said something about your issue. It will save you alot of hurt if you go to the first page and read it up yourself cos the moderator pushed it to the first page. There is no point letting pple do mathematics on top of your matter, since this is your first issue after 5 years of marriage, it is natural that pills might distort your wife's normal circle, even the VOs are not this judgemental but as you know, nobody will determine your outcome in the end except the responsible officers. We are all here to say our bit.

In summary, chose btw this two options the one that your risk appetite can carry as contained on the VO's input.

Option 1, get yourself equiped with all documentations for giving birth eg, doc correspondences, plenty cash and convincing power at POE and travel.

Option 2, Fill anther form, schedule another interview and explain yourself better to the VO still equip with all documentations including budget sheet and above all, please put God first.

Congrats.
