Lot's of people moving around the campus today...
In my mind I said , "Ehen, na so school suppose be" smiley

I have met a couple more Nigerians, cool sets...
Most recently an undergraduate student, he struck up a conversation and we got talking from school back to my apartment.

He felt the 30year old (+- 4years) Grad students feel they are 'too old' to relate with the teenage undergrads.
Me too don 'old' but we still related fine, showing that his feeling was not a fact but a perception which he should clear.....

Home now, make I go enjoy my 50mbps internet conxtn. kiss
If you feel say you go kee these internet people, na you go die! grin 1000gb monthly... No be child's play!!!
Cost $50 monthly with separate fees for the modem. Will check up and confirm.

Modified: Modem rental fee is a one-time payment of $6 for standard or $9 for high speed modems that can handle the 100mbps speed.

An update on the individual that was admitted for summer 2017 and also offered scholarship.

He paid in full for summer, his scholarship kicked in this Fall.
So he will enjoy in-state privileges for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018.

An ex-student further explained, the scholarship only covers 2 semesters so it makes more sense to choose to allow it run for Fall&Spring (18credits) than Summer&Fall (15credits).
The former pays better.

@mackynaija do you have any info on Texas schools accepting masters student with 2.6 CGPA or is their any program like POST GRADUATE down there

I'll advice you to use the free WES calculator to know what your gp is on the 4 point scale, after that you should decide whether to evaluate it or not.

Done with classes for the day, the next one for 12.30 was cancelled. {One small picture below, tried to avoid snapping faces of people}

The storm matter no be play o... In naija na normal rain na, no matter how e heavy, nobody shuts down anywhere.

School was supposed to be shut from Friday 5pm till Monday - in the last 5minutes, I have received 2 emails, 1 automated voice call and a text message saying school wil be shut from 12noon - that's like now!

These oyinbo people deh take matters seriously o. Not "our" reactive style instead of being proactive.
Corpus Christi will take a direct hit embarassed (about 40-60mins from here), TAMU-corpus christi campus has already been evacuated, city council is currently deliberating to decide if evacuations should also happen here.

By the way.... I did an on-campus job interview today, waiting for a feedback though I know the chances of getting it is reduced. Some people got it on the spot.
I wish myself, better days ahead. smiley

I made an inquiry 2 days ago, 'do I need to buy a personal printer?'
The answer was not really cos there are more cost effective ways of printing shi.

Na so I go hunting today....
My waka took me to the library, 'madam (british pronunciation, not like madam-the-maaadammmm), please how do I print a document?' smiley
'You go to any system, log in with your credentials, open the document and choose printer A for this one or printer B to print from this one' she said while pointing to the large printers.

I sidon, shake mouse, system lights up...
I follow the prompts, log in and open the documents from my email box...

Ctlr + P....
A new page pops up, I log in again and 'an account' opens.... My printing account...
credit - $20... This people nice sha I thought smiley

I line up the different documents and I think I was charged either $0.10 or $0.01 per page. Infact, the thing cheap die! These people are 'nicer' cheesy, my apartment says to print a replacement document of their paperwork na $1.00 a page undecided

Na so I carry go, go do the interview for a position I didn't even know what it was... and didn't get. BetterDaysAhead.

The process deh straight forward and their score requirements no high.

I heard most Nigerian graduate students here blast their courses... Met one electrical man with a 4.0 total GPA at graduation and seen two others with A's in all their courses so far.

So.... There is hope for us cheesy + at international orientation, school official said 'A GPA of 3.0 isn't bad'. grin maybe for those with kpali
