I met a very charming Ivorian girl at The Young Shall grow park. Didn't know how to approach her ( because of how our girls in Nigeria treat guys) but fortunately, her seat was beside mine. She greeted immediately she entered and our conversation started till we got to Abidjan. Though language barrier was a great problem but Google translator helped. "whatever I write here is a personal experience" I paid 27k at the young shall grow;had my passport only and paid 9k cefas for Yellow fever at Ghana border. The living standard here is OK but apartment. You can't imagine the houses where people live here. The only advantage is that it has light, water and very organized. Their Economy is OK. I have observed no difference in weather here. Currency is cefa. They make use of coins here. There was light everywhere I had visited, Sontra buses at 200 cefas to anywhere. There are other buses and taxi too which is costly. Houses are very expensive here. Very expensive and the least I have seen, you must pay from 6 months up. Two months rent, 4 months caution. If you are thinking of coming, budget from 50k/month for a studio. Though, you may get a cheaper one. Comparing their women to Naija is like comparing Abuja and Aba. Their women are amazing and too cheap but I must advise ; if you have a long term plan, delete their women from your mind. Many Nigerians here married them. They are very nice, but too sexually immoral. They show porn on cable TV here, so just imagine the effects.

My advice to whoever wants to come here. Please prepare very well. Both financially and mentally. Things are really expensive, especially house and data. Data and calls are free in Nigeria compared to my experience here. If you really have much, think of investing in internet service providing. Many things about this country were overhyped. Nigeria is in a million times better than this country but they are very organized and everything is working. God really blessed us but punished us with bad leaders. Only Dangote can buy this country but come and see how everything is working. I nearly cried.

What made it look like things were expensive was because back then, naira lost a lot of value, even till now, so if you are coming from Nigeria, you will pay double of what you have paid say 4 years ago.

Only if 1000 cfa was 330 like in the past, you will not be saying this.
Because the Ghana currency is stronger than both Naira and cfa; they tend to like it there.

one thing you failed to mention is you will be earning as much as your expenditures. yes, housing is expensive and other stuffs... but have you asked yourself how much you will be making if you start-up a business? my brother I don't believe that things could be more expensive than what people are earning their individually... impossible!
I spent 2 weeks in Abidjan from late June till 11th July this year and I must tell you that Abidjan is 100% better than Nigeria in everything despite our claim to be the African Giant. by God's grace I'm relocating there next month to start life!

Though things are more expensive there than In Nigeria, but you see the benefits of whatever you're paying for. unlike here you pay electricity bills and no light and other problems with bad road, poor mentality, sycophants and educated illiterates.
for your information from where I'm typing now from somewhere in Nigeria we have not seen light since today but the bills are already there for the month of September which have not even been consumed.

if you're my type that is really in need of a better environment with the good things of life you will like Abidjan.
I rather live happily in a foreign land with a peace of mind than making millions in Nigeria but lacking the good things of life on a daily basis.

As for me, I don't really believe that life is all about making money. I believe is all about happiness. that's why people from a more organized nations has a better average life expectancy than we from this part of the earth called Nigeria.
the average life expectancy of a Canadian is 85yrs, while the average life expectancy of a Nigerian is 45yrs.
Do you know why? because they're more happier and have more of a better living environment than we.
My greener pasture is my health and happiness... that's why I'm leaving this country to Abidjan.
