You guys are busy condemning Biochemistry and microbiology. How about anatomy or physiology? Those two are the worst courses in the world. Most especially anatomy. It's as hard as a nutcracker and yet as useless as a used tissue paper dumped inside the toilet. 16 Likes 1 Share |

erenax:bro forget, I have brothers who did both courses in the uni.. The truth remains, if you are not having the connections you have a very very slim chance. Those courses don't have opportunities except you want to use it to further abroad. 1 Like |

This may also help you. There are many microbiologists but fewer biochemists. That could also tell you that the Labour market may have been more saturated with one than the other. M.Sc. Biochemistry could also make you become a hotcake if you are thinking of the industry. You would have counted about 5 M.Sc. Microbiology before counting one in Biochemistry, if you by chance see one. 3 Likes |

Nutase: Sarcasm, right? Well, if you're talking in term of concepts taught in both fields, then you certainly don't know what you're talking about. Biochemistry is greatly differ from microbiology..... It's like saying chemistry and biology are one and the same. 2 Likes |

oyinthread: Why tag this wonderful opinion My own two cents? Your say is your say, do yourself a favour and try to remove that sentence from your head permanently. Back to the question, If you think Biochemistry and microbiology are that useless what about botany and zoology? I study botany in school now, and I'll admit it's the most useless thing that have ever happened to me, I'm just lucky to have utilized the opportunity my school presented me and learnt a trade. Honestly, we don't know the true worth of all these courses until we are in the university, most science courses are useless as well, they just have big big names. This country now na to learn handwork oo, school no pay at all. 3 Likes |

jaychubi:Aside from pharmacy, I don't think those courses you mentioned are exempted either in terms of saturation in the Labour market. These days, there are jobless consultant doctors and barristers, how much less ordinary medical officers? Acquiring university degrees is becoming like acquiring the fundamentals. Individuals need to plan how to make a living in a hopeless and competitive nation like ours. 3 Likes |

Pls go for medical laboratory sci or nursing. Am a medlab student and I know what am talking about. In Nigerian labour market, Biochem and microbio Are almost usless. Your chances of getting it as a second choice is very slim. I advice you to fill pure chemistry. And remove any medical related Thanks 1 Like 1 Share |

whyteteeth: Must you work with your first degree? Studying Anatomy, Physiology or Biochemistry is only a means to an end. In the US, they are a prerequisite for the study of medicine or Dentistry. There isn't a physician who didn't get drilled in the basic Med sciences. 3 Likes |
