entparrot: Thats not entirely true. There are drivers you'll give a car in pristine condition and they will destroy it. I refuse to paint everybody with the same brush but lets not kid ourselves some of the drivers here that complain are just as bad as the Uber they complain so bitterly about. I had two drivers, one had a personal hygiene worse than a pig. He was lazy, rude and constantly complained. The other driver treated my car like it was his own, paid his money with no excuses and was as honest as they come. Its not always about the car, Uber or even the Partner. Sometimes its just the person. Needless to say one is still with me and the other is now another person's problem. 7 Likes |

dawg2002: Front struts and engine mounts do not wear out at once, wear is progressive. Your engine mounts and struts were not destroyed by new driver. Meanwile from experience the struts of your veicle hardly fail, look in the direction of te steering rack. Good luck. 5 Likes |

Nice thread here. I have gone through a few pages on this thread in the month of August and September, and I'm keen to have someone explain a few points to me please. 1. The Uber/Taxify business in Nigeria, is it dominated mainly by individual drivers, or are there partnerships who put capital together to buy a fleet of cars which they give out to drivers? 2. How viable is it as a business start-up if the initial cars are bought fairly-used as compared to new? What I mean is, is it preferable to buy 3 new cars, or buy 5-6 used cars? The reason I'm asking is I'm possibly looking into forming a consortium of like-minded individuals willing to put personal capital together to buy a fleet of cars for this business, a tentative location will either in Lagos, Nigeria or in Nairobi, Kenya. I'm not keen on the individual driver side of things, it's the partnership fleet business I'm interested in. |

dawg2002:I won't fully blame the driver bro, if u want to be successful in the business the car suspension must be on point as in very strong. Our roads are very bad so ur shocks and others must suffer its normal, that's why I go for cars with STRONG SUSPENSION not just fuel economy many partner only consider fuel economy and neglect the suspension part of it which is more important. Can u buy brand new original shocks for ur corolla? The 4 cost over 200k ASK GAZZUZ, am sure u are gonna replace the spoilt shocks with either tokunbo shocks or a brand new Chinese type that won't last more than 3 months... So who takes the blame? The driver? or You? My observation is MANY SO CALLED PARTNERS DONT EVEN UNDERSTAND THIS BUSINESS AND THEY PUT UNNECESSARY BLAMES ON DRIVERS...Email me ur number I will give u some tips to be successful in this business. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Hmmm, partners won't understand anything until they get on the road and drive demselves. If u know d kind of work these cars do daily, u would pity the car. I have already condemned my car to be only good for uber business and not for private use again. If I get a job,I would just sell it off and get another one for private use. These cars can never remain the same again after 4 months usage. Now, I can't even save from it again as the income only settles household expenses and vehicle repair expenses. You can only enjoy the business for the little time u started it and with a good car. After few months, the workload would have taken its toll on the car and u get to visit the mechanic, rewire and panel beater on a weekly basis(exhaust pipe leakage). Those that give their cars out on HP are lucky because by the time the driver is done paying up, the car would already be a trash. My personal experience 8 Likes |

entparrot: No most riders just want to get to their destinations. whatever is agreed between you and Uber has nothing to do with the riders. High or low you expect the rider to pay so stop transferring your aggressions unto customers. You havr alternatives 2 Likes 1 Share |

I think this will save a life. The kind of device you use also matters a lot. I had an issue with my Samsung S5 this week and decided to use an Infinix Hot 2 phone temporarily. The result? Frustration. 1. The phone does not have an accurate GPS transmitter which means the wrong location very different from where you are would be displayed on the map leading to Uber sending very far trip requests your way and in turn leading to high trip cancellations on the rider's end. 2. The Navigation was messed up as the issue in 1 above led to wrong routes being displayed by the map. Since current location is wrong the optimal route will be definitely wrong. In conclusion, use a good phone it will help you a lot. The attached picture was found on another thread...

If you follow the thread, you will notice he has endured a lot of insults without replying back, he would just type 'ok' in reply to the insults heaped on him. A very interesting thread here, still reading from way back and learning as well. |
