one thing you failed to mention is you will be earning as much as your expenditures. yes, housing is expensive and other stuffs... but have you asked yourself how much you will be making if you start-up a business? my brother I don't believe that things could be more expensive than what people are earning their individually... impossible!
I spent 2 weeks in Abidjan from late June till 11th July this year and I must tell you that Abidjan is 100% better than Nigeria in everything despite our claim to be the African Giant. by God's grace I'm relocating there next month to start life!

Though things are more expensive there than In Nigeria, but you see the benefits of whatever you're paying for. unlike here you pay electricity bills and no light and other problems with bad road, poor mentality, sycophants and educated illiterates.
for your information from where I'm typing now from somewhere in Nigeria we have not seen light since today but the bills are already there for the month of September which have not even been consumed.

if you're my type that is really in need of a better environment with the good things of life you will like Abidjan.
I rather live happily in a foreign land with a peace of mind than making millions in Nigeria but lacking the good things of life on a daily basis.

My experience and my personal opinion too.
Rightly said but please,in the little time u spent in.Abidjan, what business can you point out that is lucrative, that one can venture into.I so much share your ideology.

You're welcome my Dear brother. I was able to interview many of umuigbo in Abidjan when I got there, 60% said motor parts business and also made me to understand that as long as you have your cash to venture in whatever is needed in the markets, you gonna make sells and have your profit.

so many business are there if you explore the market. I will take my time to explore the market more and choose the best option for me when I go there again and with the capital I have, I will then make a decision on what to invest.
that's why I made some contacts first when I got there initially so that I will have a place to squat within the first few months I will learn language and be business oriented with the environment before paying for rent so that I van minimize expenses for the main time.

Don't give up my Dear brother!!! "nwayoo bu ijeh" and "Ndidi bu ogwu uwa" says our people. there is this guy I met in Abidjan (an ibo guy) he told me he came there without even a Fadden, but he never gave up and started by doing lineal job to people at the labor market and now he's building a house for his people. life may be tough there in the beginning as a starter, but there are so many things to keep you going like good environment and a working system of things as long as I can have a way to eat a good square meals daily.

I sent you a pm but no response yet. dunno if you're on WhatsApp.

Why are you leaving Mama, what happened/is happening? Is it because of the language or you don't like the environment? You should have spoken up earlier. If you wouldn't mind, do contact me if you will extend your stay. Life isn't like that. I can really relate because I nearly got frustrated but someone I met here kept giving me hopes and I am loving this place already. The major problem from my experience is the language barrier because these people are very friendly and accommodating.
Any other person coming should please ask your questions in details and appropriate answers will be provided.

You can never be bored in Abidjan socially. I doubt your sincerity... your problem is either you're broke already due to the exorbitant prices of things there much more than it is in Nigeria or the language barrier. Your brief remark is do discouraging to people who never had been to Abidjan. be honest!

I am still trying to settle here oooooh! No settlement until cash starts rolling in. Abidjan is OK but very expensive though, maybe because I haven't started making money here. Honestly, I would prefer specific questions, that way, it will be easier for me to provide answers. For business, from my personal observations, every business thrives here. I can't specifically tell which one sells more than the other. There are great businesses all over. What matters is your capital. Yes, business here requires capital.
For withdrawals here, I recommend SGBCI bank. First Bank charges me 420 Naira for each withdrawal.

Wow! What a nice business idea you have. It sells like there is no tomorrow. The only challenge will be enough space. But don't worry, your money will get you that. This is how it may go ; tea, bread and indomie in the morning, or spaghetti included and drinks in the evening. They love drinks a lot. With these, you will be busy all the time.

lol.. do not let this your love for women make you be like those who went to equatorial Guinea (Panya) in the early 80's and came Back With nothing.
that's a nice business though because Ivorian ladies have penchant for looking foppish.

please how can I open an account and transfer my cash before coming if possible?

If you don't already have an account here, it will be very difficult. I had an account with Diamond Bank back home, I called to tell them about my coming even met their customer care one on one. Behold, I arrived here and their ATM is not even working with their bank. I opened an account with them here but they told me that I should get authorization back home for a transfer. I called home but was told my presence is needed for the authorization. What you will do is this, come with a Nigerian master card and be withdrawing your money from SGBCI Bank here. I will recommend you withdraw from their headquarter in Plateau. It dispenses up to 200kF. First Bank charges me 420 for each withdrawal.
To open an account here, one of us here (Abel) works with GT bank. He is a nice guy too, I was with him yesterday. And their ATM is cheap too (11kF). Diamond told me 20KF

Doubting my sincerity? Be honest?
Did I beg you for money? Do I need to state my worth before you understand my simple sentence?
The language barrier was the only sensible thing you said. The rest is plain trash!

now you're forced indirectly to say the truth.... none of what I said was a "plain trash" bro, but I listed for you to pick the truth and make your reason plain so by not making intending travelers to the Abidjan to think something else reasonable was the cause of your bored experience. now you have been forced to say the truth, I rest my case.
