Seems Punch is against the Ajaero faction. This story is contrived and is Not the true position articulated by the banks. Go to Vanguard website and read the true position of the banks.

Vanguard is not a reliable media outfit. Too many gaffes.

Hardeysolution:
ULC leaders should be arrested

The United labour Congress, ULC, declared a nationwide strike starting from today. The United Labour Congress was a faction of the Nigerian labour Congress and is as at now unrecognized by the Nigerian government.

It should be recalled that ULC broke out of NLC as a result of leadership tussle that rocked the NLC during election of leaders of the Congress. https://www.olisa.tv/2016/12/joe-ajaero-nlc-faction-united-labour-congress/

Therefore, a Congress that is not recognised by the law declaring a nationwide strike is an illegal act that should be dealt with legally.

Union of banks has pulled out of the strike because it is unnecessary at this stage.

If the Nigerian Government should give room for this nonsense, more will come. All sections want to go for strike and take this country to a halt, and that isn't a concern for us Nigerians? The only reasonable fight(strike) is still that of the university workers and all other strike actions against the federal government are mere wickedness and politically motivated actions. It will be unreasonable for the government to negotiate with illegality. Illegal is illegal!

I hereby as a citizen of this country, call for the arrest and prosecution of leaders of ULC.

you have a very valid point at this time of recovery from recession we shouldn't embark on a nationwide strike.

nonetheless I would also want you to name which of the basic needs of the average Nigerian that is being met optimally by the current administration. or the fascism taking place in the civil service or the high cost of living and inflation. we need to call a spade a spade. the nation is at an all time low, this strike could be the rallying point we need to address the loopholes in the constitution and call for a true restructuring of the constitution.

please go out of the country to a neighboring country like Ghana and see what your government as robbed you off

Ghana is not in anyway better. ...You can go to Ghana and thank your stars that you're a Nigerian. I understand you sir but we as well need to Unitedly take Nigeria higher not by destroying things.. Embarking on strike will destroy things more..
