shut up there, mentioning golf proves you not only know about cars but you don't even own one either..mind you being a mechanic and owning a car at two different experience.......golf is one of the easiest to maintain,cheap parts, better fuel consumption infact I started with golf 3 back in 2009 and I remember buying even 2liters of fuel and it will still take me some kilometers.i don't fear of being robbed, only an insane car snatcher will go after golf. To them it's never worth the risk....

Golf 3, 4 and 5... if they've ever visited a Naija electrician before, then you are free to avoid it like a plague.

Land rover freelander is a literal curse from the shrine of Okija, stay away.

my dads golf 4 was terrible, always had one electrical fault or the other and the gearbox ( automatic ) dont even get me started. and this was a car that was only used by him to go to work and back. he got tired of it and sold it, the person who bought it tried to travel with the car from kaduna to i think it was kano and the car caught fire and that was the end of it.

Unless you are really knowledgeable about the marquees or a mechanic who can personally handle a spanner with dexterity... I will advise you to avoid the following vehicles:

1. Peugeot 607 V6 plus automatic transmission. I won't explain.
2. BMW series whatever series either series a, series b to z. Especially automatic transmission models.
3. Landrover Freelander... Designed by the devil assembled by monkeys.. left factory for showroom with over 200 known faults... Avoid like leprosy!
4. Audi A4 Allroad... I will leave this for kingreign...
5. Nigerian used Nissan Murano... With wires hanging out in the engine bay...in fact all Nissan cars with the slightest sign of abuse..
6. Add yours as led and experienced or known.

Avoid ANY car that is equipped with air suspension, or hydraulic suspension, all known as "Baloon" in Nigeria.

Mercedes cars made after the year 2000 lead the pack of offenders who created this demonic technology, and when it breaks down, be prepared to pay more than the cost of the entire car, just to fix the suspension.

This is the plague of most Land Rover products,including Range Rover
However,I think no matter the issues every vehicle owner should adopt the practice of regular comprehensive servicing

I met a guy in Kaduna who claimed to have changed the engine and gear box of his Nigeria used Murano to that of Siena. According to him, it's been cool. @op what's your take?

the engine they use mostly is camry not sie8 as sienna engine and gear box are very costly and
problematic as well , i have a causin who specialises in changing costly engines of big problematic cars to another one s5 mainly camry. He is currently driving a murano abandoned to him by a frustrated owner
