The curl revitalizer is to give our Afro a pop. If we're having a party on Sunday, I apply the it on her hair and braid the hair in fat chunks on Saturday morning , Sunday morning I loosen the fat braids and we have our curly Afro hair by picking with the blue comb or cutting comb.
The hair mayonnaise makes her hair very soft and easy to comb. It also makes her scalp look wet and slick after plaiting. Hairdressers don't like this cos it makes the hair slip off their fingers.
Coconut Oil for the shine and scalp in roads.
The styling custard is so the hair stays in a bun all day without using those horrible gels when we're going out. I also use it when she plaits a style that has brush.
Detangler is used for our next day Afro.

Atinuke in a bun, Afro, hair loose and hair in corn rows.

pls again, can I start making piggy tail with her hair and use that colourful elastic band to hold the mouth? she will be 6month next wk..thanks

Everyday ke?!
When she was a baby I used to wash her hair like every 2-3 days.
Once she started making the puffs it became every week. Her hair became fuller and we washed once in 2 weeks.
Now I wash monthly. Or if it gets dirty in between months. Her hair is never smelly or dirty cos she doesn't use petrolatum based products or mineral oils like Vaseline or baby oils. If we need shine, we go for coconut oil.
Avoid using fancy rubbers, this things can cut hair. Use the cotton puffs, they don't hold too tight so you might find yourself making the hair every day or 2 days but they're more gentle on the hair and scalp.
Atunuke started making her hair around 3 months or so.
She was 6m in this picture .



PS: I don't wash the hair, but I run water through it and apply Coconut Oil and comb quickly.
That's why we also started making the hair at 3m. To remove the stress of every day combing.
