I was born & baptized in the catholic church yet no priest has ever told me to bow to an image before. Images serves as a reminder of our faith. There is no doubt that we remember images better than words after all there's a saying that a picture is worth 1000 words. An example is a stained glass image in my church depicting Jesus knocking on a door which brings to my remembrance revelations 3:20. The cross makes me remember the sacrifice Jesus made for my Redemption & how I'm supposed to deny myself, pick up my cross & follow Him. I have heard people give testimony about how a picture of their G.O drove robbers away yet they are angry when catholics venerate images depicting Jesus Christ or Mary. I've seen people prostrate before the altars in their churches yet these same people tell me I'm practicing idolatry. Let me sha not judge; God knows all.
