There are two things involved: 1. It doesn't just lie making highway but the issue of maintenance is what's degrading them. 2. The issue of projects should be taken seriously there are so many uncompleted projects in Nigeria |

The road is meant for the integration of the West African subregion. And road will be linking the costal cities of Lagos to Abidjan. ie 5 costal West African countries out of 15 states. How will this road benefit the hinterland nations that are landlocked? |

Tolexander: No direct benefit in short term but I see it serving as a model to build two additional transit belt highways in future 1. Trans-Sahel from Kano Westward 2. Trans-Savannah from Ilorin Westward |
