Looking at our seeding going into the draw on December 1st, If we can avoid Spain in pot 2 or get drawn with either Russia or Poland in pot 1 we should be able to hold our own and get out of the group stages, but the gods might not be so kind...

I used established standards in my selection, which involves drawing.

The practice is to put the host team in Group A, and then pick the rest Pot 1 teams to head the subsequent groups.
