As an investor I'm interested in getting the latest update on the crude oil discovered in Lagos sometime ago. The lagos/ibadan media celebrated the discovery of oil in Lagos to high heavens with the following headlines: https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/business/lagos-begins-first-crude-oil-export-august/157178.html https://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/lagos-now-officially-oil-producing-state-ambode/ Questions, Lagos was supposed to start exporting its crude oil deposits in August, how many barrels have been exported now? Is Lagos now getting 13% derivation as an oil producing state Is Lagos now part of NDDC? Why is there no further information on the discovered oil wells in Lagos? When will Nigerians say Enough is Enough to Lagos/Ibadan media propaganda 3 Likes

Lol you can smell the salt in this post. No it's not covered under NDDC mandate (Why would they be). No they dont get 13% derivation yet. Your last question I don't know. globemoney: 1 Like

What you require really is a better understanding of what has happened. Discovery of oil on Aje field (off Lagos coast) is over 20 years and not a recent event. Investors in hydrocarbon don't surf Nairaland.com for business updates. Read the link below for some understanding. https://answersafrica.com/lagos-aje-oil-field.html 3 Likes |

leighcon: Simple question and you are posting links. The question globemoney asked is; "Have they received 13% derivation?" 2 Likes |

nwabobo: If he's an investor like he said he would be smart enough to do a simple Google search. Go to the NBS and NDDC website for those answers. 2 Likes |

Sometimes i really dont get the bickering between tribes and regions.. Like we dont patronize igbo and yoruba artisans when we shop, or we dont have friends from different divides. We should know that we are laying a very bad precedent for the future, for our kids. Have come to realise that its the low IQ, the below poor , unexposed, jealous, envious ones that think this way and in that manner. Maybe its just a consolation to them as to the reason they are where they are. Do you think those whom you hail when there names come up here for good are divided in their life routine? Some were taught by yoruba/igbo lecturers, some worked under supervisors from different divides.. but we rush here to claim them, meanwhile no one is claiming you even in your very home. |
