The Complainant can still make you pay by charging you to a civil case and getting a judgement saying that you should pay |

[quote author=amzee post=63032151]Lawyers in the house please come to my aid. I work as a cashier in a Bet9ja shop. In the month of June i had a shortage of #132,000 which i cant explain how it happened. I explained to my manager which he later-on called the owner of the shop on phone and i was arrested after receiving slaps from him. At the police station i paid #30,000 and was taken to court 4 days later and the judge keep postponing the case until last month when the prosecutor asked that we settle the case amicably and out-of-court. We agreed that i will resume back to work and he will be deducting his money from my salary until its complete. On getting to court to present the agreement maf I was jailed 6 months or #10,000 fine. I spent 21 days in prison without my family knowing my whereabout. I later contacted them and the fine was paid and i was released. My question is AM I GOING TO PAY THE REMAINING MONEY OR IS THAT THE END OF THE CASE? Mod pls move to appropriate section so i can get advises. Thanks Guy I equally run a bet shop and presently one of my cashier is owing me the sun of 40k coz he played virtual league with it. So stop saying you can't explain how you run into shortage my friend, you played virtual league with said amount simple. |

pussygotlips: Mr Man are you high or stúpid or just plain daft? I never referred to you. What is wrong with referring someone with legal issues to speak with a lawyer? You better get some sense in your thick skull and fùck off out of my mention. Channel your frustrations somewhere else 1 Like 1 Share |

sorry about your ordeal let me share this experience with you a friend of mine owns a bet9ja shop and one day he was working as a cashier since he has less hand that day. he observed that about 16k plus in his visual account disappeared. as a former banker, he run a tray of all the transaction and couldn't see it. he called his super agent who said he has never experience such and advised him to send mail to bet9ja which he did. after like a week plus, he was credited with the exact amount meaning that the problem was with bet9ja. that might be your case if you are sure you didn't play game with it. you can imagine if it was a cashier that happened to that day. 6 Likes |

amzee: Though the court has set you free, but this is Nigeria where the rule of law don't apply. The big man who owns the shop may give money to the police to re-arrest you. He may also insist you pay from your salary, even when the court has set you free. I will wait for your second post telling us the outcome. Good luck. |

I am very sure that the money did not just dissappeared. Op used the money to fire bet9ja. I am very sure of this because on of my uncle is an agent of bet9ja. And almost 90% of all his cashiers has been taken to Ojo Police station because they use the money that is meant for business to fire bet9ja and end up loosing it Op you get luck say your oga employ you without guarantor self. Thief and greedy fellow can't succeed as a cashier. |

Freshbank: I can bet my life on it that he used the money to stake and lost and he continue playing with the hope that the money will be recovered through winnings . I am an agent and I know how this things happen but I am surprised both the manager and the agent did not noticed the shortage till it reach 130,000 loun loun . 130,000 is not a small money I'm this business and no way my cashier will have #5000 shortage without me detecting on time . |

if d matter was adjourned for report of settlement the magistrate will never sentence u,trial must be conducted bf it will be subsequently adjourned for adoption of addresses,if u have lawyer as u aforementioned bf sentence, unless u pleaded guilty for d charge. Nevertheless,u will not pay the missing mony, either u pay the fine or u serve 6months jail as affirmed by magistrate |

amzee: Do the winning enter n disappear again ? It's impossible and you know it but I will still blame the shop agent/manager for failing on their oversight duty . At least the shop manager should be around when the winnings enter and you should have call his attention to it which he should know what to do or did the winnings enter after closing of work ? any traces of someone using the money to play on your account before you notice the winnings ? what effort did you goes put into resolving the issue before concluding you are the one that mismanaged the said amount ? |
