People wrote some tips in response to Sleekchic (not sure of moniker) a few pages back. In addition, make sure your mind is not wondering.

Also, in the Listening section, they sometimes confront you with the wrong answer before they now say what the correct answer is, especially in the phone call part.

Another challenging aspect may be the maps, you need to pay a lot of attention here and follow the directions with your pen as you are hearing the tape recording.

N.B : Try and be writing out all your sentences in full without abbreviations so that you do not lapse into the familiar habit in your writing section.

All the best.

Thanks BRO.

Confusing info is not a P.

I think the P is the objective questions , and those ones they will write which two info did the students discuss

A. Church
B. Mosque
C.Buhari
D. Chelsea
E. Danladi
F. Nairaland
G. Laptop

Let me list my P

1) Multiple choice questions ( Takes more dan 50% of marks lost) .. The pieces of information are always too cumbersome and the 30 seconds is sometimes not enough to read d questions b4 d recording starts

2) The aforementioned P (A-G)

3) Writing Plural instead of Singular and Vice versa ; Or will they might any right irrespective of whether you added ''S'' or not ?

As in ehn. I didn't even use any of that Cambridge 1-12 ish but I had an 8.5.
I think people put too much emphasis on the study materials and not so much on learning the tips and putting in efforts to really practice and identify their problems areas. If you like attend daily classes in BC, if you do not practice and understand the tips to identifying the answers, you might not make much progress. It's my own opinion sha.

Which one is 'cheat code'? Is it impossible to believe that he has a very good grasp of English Language ? Why must it be a 'cheat code'?

At the risk of being quarrelsome, I think I just have a problem with the word 'cheat'.

Oga , please help Talkingboy with tips on how to get a good score.

1. I understand your issue with this one. I had it too, but what I did was to always quickly write down what I heard as it was being said. If the speaker said something contrary as the answer, I'd quickly cross out the wrong one. Then even if I didnt identify my answers, i'd take a calculated guess based on the answers I had written out. It's a tough one. You have to be a fast writer.

2. You can also employ the elimination method for this question type. Follow the listed options as the speaker is talking. The speaker will most likely follow the sequence and you will easily pick out the wrong and right ones. Be careful to listen out for misleading and seemingly correct answers. They often before the correct answers. They are used as distractions.

3. That's another issue. What you can do most times is to ensure you read the full text of the question to ensure that it makes grammatical sense when you insert the answers. You will likely be correct if you use this method. It worked for me though.

Good luck. Check other tips here

Unfortunately, I really cannot remember much detail of the test but I still think it is attention you need to pay (at least for that part you highlighted) I do not recall that I was reading the writing first or not, truth be told, I only wrote the test to please my spouse as me I no wan relocate grin. I wrote in March, so it has been a while.

It was a very busy period of my life so he went online and got me some IELTS videos on Youtube by Emma for me, I did like a 6-day crash course with the videos and the practice that British Council provided (I attempted everything but did not pay for the optional materials). I was out of the country and even came back same day that I had my speaking test (BC no gree move the test). Try her videos, her tips may help.

I did not even know that there was a 'desired score' for good CRS Score, I have always been a fan of the invaluable information on Nairaland but did not just have the time to read this thread till recently.

Hi all! Please ur help is needed. I'm actually asking for a friend. He has 2 yrs experience as a Value Chain Officer in a bank where he acts as a liaison between the market facing team and big telecommunications and cement firms to exploit the value chain opportunities in their processes. Pre-ITA he selected NOC 6235. However when he got his reference letter this was what was stated.

Job title: Collections and Value Chain Officer

1. Attending joint marketing calls with marketers
2. Signing on new Mandates for the bank to be a participating bank in relevant schemes by Telecommunication, Sugar, Flour and cement companies
3. Provide relevant background information, market intelligence and relevant government policy analysis to aid market facing team
4. Provide input into development of products that have high value proposition and unique market differentiation
5. Review existing products for continuous development
6. Regularly monitor performance of market facing units in the respective products in line with set targets

With this I am not sure 6235 still suffices. We have gone through the NOC codes and can't find which to use and we sent a mail to the NOC email but they gave us a standard response.

Please seniors in the house kindly help

To claim self employed you'll need to show recommendation letter from clients, CAC registration, income evidence, tax clearance, reference letters from clients, bank statement showing payments from clients, contract agreements. If you have it you're fine.
If you claim employee, your employer will provide a reference letter, but you will have to show evidence of salary payments in your bank account statement.

Thank you for your kind and honest opinion, I can and should be able to come up with all the above, however I’m not sure what an income evidence is like? Any ideas please?

I just don’t don’t know if to go down this line and get rejected or I just apply as an employee in my own company and build a salary account. Folks say it’s the surest thing to do but will being an employee under my company not contradict my application in terms of names?

Just very confused. I just want to know the best path to follow so I can start building towards it so I have all the documents available with CRS Score hopefully comes down below my score.

Please helps.

Hello, please enter just the way you are. It's risky to claim false jobs because you'll have to tell many lies. I submitted as a self employed and im trusting God for the best. I'm in a regulated field so I submitted my licenses to practice for the past 4 years, tax payment receipts for my employees and self, 3 months bank statement for one of my banks and a letter from the same bank saying when I opened the account and that I've been running it very well since then..., CAC documents...mine is a retail business so i couldnt submit receipts form clients because they are just too many. If they go on google they will see the picture of my business.

Just relax and start gathering every evidence that you've been doing a legitimate business. I believe Canada will be happy to have entrepreneurs. You'll only have to prove that you've been running this business full time. We will all testify IJN

quote author=Optimist1528 post=63372498]Hello Guys,
Please house, what are your thoughts about entering the EE as a company MD/CEO? Also do you think my chances are better as an employee or do I stick to what I legitimately do? I’m really confused and not sure what/how to go about this.

I would appreciate everyone’s kind and honest input on this.

Thank You.

Thank you ladyAy,

I just worry what the possibilities are, I don't want to risk getting rejected for applying as self employed cos most of the folks I know who did this applied as employee and they say that the self-employed route has very little chances. Do you know anyone who did same and got their PR?
Thanks.

Maybe copies of invoices that can be traced to your bank statement? References from past clients whose name appear in your bank statement? Make sure you highlight the later and do an LOE pointing these facts out. The burden of proof is on you.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

Also, in your LOE, include links to social media pages where your work may have been showcased in the past.

For all my friends fighting with ielts, check out the site below.

It gives real exam practice and the advanced questions in listening and reading are real tough. I think if you can crack those, you should be able to go for the real thing.

4163 Business development officers and marketing researchers and consultants looks likely but it's a tough call. Except HR is ready to word it similarly. I'm still looking though.
