Be it far from me to hate but this "report" from Financial Derivatives company is an insult to all the people who taught Economics. How do you measure wealth? Wealth is measured by these indices: GDP per capita and GDP. However some other indices like personal income, distribution and people living above poverty line is also great. Then of course I checked again to see who compiled the list, then it was a small private consultant in VI and ALL in board members and 99% of the staff are from that region. Just Google them. If they had said Ogun state, I would understand but poverty ridden Osun, common! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Anybody supporting paying half salary for the past 29th month is evil. Go check waec results and see osun performance. Aregbe is a disaster to us in Osun, he paid the writer because of this year election. Go and check the debt profile of osun state and add to the salary he own workers, is then you will understand the op was paid to write all those trash. Nigeria: Using Education to Eradicate Poverty
The United Nations' Global Multi-Dimensional Poverty Index which ranked Osun State second richest state has three measurements and 10 indicators in evaluating overall poverty.
Every measurement is similarly weighted; every indicator within a measurement is additionally weighted, and included.
It uses 10 indicators to measure poverty in three dimensions: education, health and living standards. The United Nations Global multi dimensional poverty index published a report based on the poverty rate of Nigerian states that ranked Osun State second richest state. According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, quality and functional education are panacea to poverty eradication. Osun State as part of its commitment to education is building many elementary schools, middle schools and 11 high schools to equip children with skills to eradicate poverty
Osun education under Governor Rauf Aregbesola has developed human capabilities in areas such as health, education, agriculture, finance, transportation, commerce and governance that are needed to eradicate poverty. Osun elementary, middle and high education empowered people to improve their social, cultural and economic status. Huge investment in education and skills acquired increased opportunities for economic growth and is therefore a key prerequisite for poverty eradication.
The priority that Aregbesola's administration gives to the development of education in Osun has inspired many initiatives that have brought marked differences to the grooming of minds. The blueprint that emerged from the Education Summit the administration organised in the first year of its assumption of office provides useful direction for its drive to reposition education in the state. From huge investments in instructional materials and teaching aids, crucial changes in curriculums, corrective restructuring of schools into Elementary, Middle, and High in conformity with international best practices in school management, to the construction of mega schools, the administration moves on to ensure that public schools in the state become virile emporiums of sustainable capacity-building to eradicate poverty. In the last six years, remarkable successes have been recorded and rich lessons distilled from low points.
What exists in Osun in terms of educational infrastructure development is not symbolism but substance in developing IT and other careers to eradicate poverty.
Educational system in the State of Osun under the leadership of Aregbesola has introduced several innovations that are need to eradicate poverty which have received accolades home and abroad. The massive construction of new schools, Osun School Feeding Programmes (OMEAL), introduction of Opon Imo amongst other innovations have not only placed Osun on the world map of educational development, it has prepared ground for a brighter future for the students of public schools in the state by eradicating poverty. Governor Aregbesola had said that the education revolution was part of his administration's resolves to build a new man in every child in the state, a decision which he said would help to sustain the future of the state and eradicate poverty.
The state-of-the-art schools which were and others currently being built are of the world standard with all the facilities required in the 21st century standard educational institute anywhere in the world to eradicate poverty. With the quality of the schools, no one would ever believe that such could exist in Nigeria, except you are there.
.
The Aregbesola's administration championed the inspiring innovations through the ground breaking project which is meant to utilise ICT and concisely tackle learning problems to eradicate poverty. The state, through its Opón Ìmò Technology Enhanced Learning System (OTELS), has developed a learning tool that could revolutionise learning in developing states around the world to eradicate poverty.

Osun exceeds global standard for GDP to infrastructure ratio – Engineers
Civil Engineers have lauded the performance of Governor Rauf Aregbesola especially in the realm of ground breaking infrastructural facilities across the State of Osun. This is coming as the Engineers declared that the administration of Governor Aregbesola has exceeded Global Standard for GDP-to-Infrastructure Ratio with the several completed and ongoing infrastructural projects that ducts the state. Governor Ogbeni laying the foundation At a dinner of the association in Osogbo, A former Deputy Vice Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Prof Olugbenga Aribisala who spoke on the theme “Infrastructural Development: An Index For National Development” encouraged government to spend 6% of its GDP on Infrastructure. At the event, the Engineers acknowledged the uncommon record of the Governor in giving Osun the needed infrastructural facelift for economic growth. Aribisala said that “The Osun State Government has shown a very great example of government funding for infrastructural projects.
I want to state here unequivocally that Osun State has exceeded the figure recommended for infrastructure development.” According to him, diversification of the economy will remain impossible without infrastructure. Also, the National Chairman, Nigerian Institution Of Civil Engineers, Andem Ekpo-Bassey, commended the level of infrastructure development in the state. “From what I saw today, it is very impressive to me. There are some projects that are recreational projects, there are some projects which are political projects but there are some projects that are human driven projects. These are the kinds of projects that your Governor has really done.” “As an institution revolving in policy and recommendations, we can rightly confirm that seven years of his government in the state has been numerous number of big civil engineering projects across the State of Osun.” Governor Rauf Aregbesola was at the event presented with an Award of Grand Achiever Of Infrastructural Development.

Osun has moved forward under your watch -Nigeria Guild Of Editors tells Aregbesola
ON MARCH 20, 20171:36 PMIN NEWS
Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was on Saturday described as a visionary governor who has not only opened Osun to the entire world but has also set the state on the right pedestal of development.
President, Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mrs Funke Egbemode, stated this in Osogbo, when she led the NGE Standing Committee members to an inspection of state projects across some parts of the state.
This was as the Governor attributed the nation’s economic problem and the poverty ravaging millions of people to lack of productivity. Some of the gigantic projects visited by the NGE team include the 18 kilometre Oba Adesoji Aderemi East By-Pass; 3,000 students capacity Ataoja Government High School, Osogbo Government High School, Nelson Mandela Freedom Park and Atewogbeja Fountain, rehabilitated Nigeria Railway Terminus and park.
Egbemode attributed the development and progress of the State to the atmosphere of peace and security being enjoyed in the state. Egbemode, who is also the Managing Director of the New Telegraph Newspaper, said however ambitious any chief executive of a state is, he can only achieve little without peace and security.
She said it is obvious that something has changed in Osun and there has been a significant improvement in terms of infrastructures in the state since the present administration came on board. She added that it is gratifying to know that the state of Osun especially the state capital is now looking more clean, developed and beautiful. Mrs Egbemode, who observed that the state has moved forward tremendously under Aregbesola, stressed that she is always impressed by any government who is passionately working to leave the state better than it met it. T
he President of the Guild of Editors also commended the Governor for attracting businesses and investors into the state through its various masses-friendly programmes such as the Osun school feeding programme, Osun Youth empowerment scheme among others. She said, “Obviously so many things have changed in Osun. I am from this state and I come home occasionally and each time I come there is always a new thing to see. “I am so happy that we now have a cleaner and more beautiful state, it is great to see that there is a lot of improvement in Osun. “A governor that is able to attract businesses and investors to his state through direct masses-oriented programmes like the O’Meal, Oyes and others has done well.” Mrs Egbemode also commended the efforts of the Aregbesola administration for making the state one of the safest in the country, noting that it is a pointer to the fact that youths in the state are well engaged.
According to her, “One thing is obvious, weather you are in Osun or you are outside the state reading about Osun, you definitely have a feeling that it is a secured state. “And one good thing about a peaceful and secured state is that it attracts investors to the state because a peaceful and secured environment helps business to thrive. “By and large, your government has done well for the people of Osun and we urge you to do more” she said.
