there was obviously a time kanu could have negotiated with the government. why didn't he?he could have successfully negotiated a lot of concessions for his people but that arrogance and rigidity prevented him for being reasonable. he was probably also concerned about his image, not to appear as a sell out. why should that be the case. the ipob struggle was selfish. even the SS saw this that's why no one raised an eyebrow when kanu was removed. it's even more baffling that his vocal internet warriors seem afraid to ask where their leader is |

jollymizzle: Northerners seem more reasonable? What is your basis?? Like I said before if Kanu was a violent agitator like Gani or Shekau things would have been different today..Whether or not you like Kanu or Igbos is immaterial. The man was right about everything and he gave everybody an opportunity to fight for their future but petty fault finding and FEAR to challenge northern supremacy and status quo prevailed. Enjoy Nigeria as it is na una sabi |

nku5:of course the rest of us didn't like him, what was he fighting for? a biafra that sought to seceed with the Niger delta. the nations source of wealth. no need sugar coating it, oil is the unifying factor in nigeria. kanus. maps were not only so outrageous, it was a declaration of war. the Igbos wanted to seceed with Niger delta and be the sole benefactor of the oil.the maps also included buffer states like benue to shield them from the Northerners. everything all worked out, but arrogant in that you thought we were blind to it and would just allow it because you could insult us. just like they attempted in the sixties to control the economy, much so that your father Nnamdi Azikiwe opposed the insertion clause in the constitution which would ironically have given the igbos the legal backing to seceded sixty years later. you igbos need to stop trying to conquer the rest of us. you would only get defeated and subjugated further.igbos should rather fight for their rights and not try to dominate others. 2 Likes |

jollymizzle: 100% false oga. You are speaking from a point of bias and lack of information 1. There are indigenous Igbos in the Niger Delta as there are yorubas in the North Central or Hausas in Cameroon, Niger and Chad etc 2. There are oilfields in Igboland and when I say Igboland I mean SE in this context not even Igboland in the Niger Delta. Anambra has an estimated $5 billion worth of untapped liquified natural gas 3. Read more history and less propaganda. Igbos have never needed to dominate anybody. It was never in our culture before the white man joined us to hausas and yorubas and called us Nigerians. Incidentally it is the yorubas and hausas that have a history of always trying to subjugate others. If you want facts I can give you. In the 1st Republic of the 1960s the Eastern region was the fastest growing region in the country with booming infrastructure, plenty of army officers, etc We were already dominating so why would we need to subjugate anybody. 1 Like |

oduastates: Don't mind the iPod miscreant. See the way he stylishly left out details in his comparison. The airhead even said gani took up arms against the government. Please ask him when and How? He didn't give details about the empty threats kanu gave, how kanu boasted about bringing the president's head from Abuja to his people, how he said that any igbo man who attends a Yoruba pastor church is not normal, how he cursed other tribes and incited his fellow dumb iPods to attack kumuyi when he comes to igbo land for crusade. When we say iPods are bunch of unintelligent slow and uncivilized goats, they be getting angry. This one has come here to stylishly start the trouble he cannot finish and when he is served , he'll start the usual victim playing and empty chest beating. Kanu is a phucking coward who lacks common sense just like the daft followers who supported him. 3 Likes |

nku5:You can belive whatever you want. have you asked why ZIK didn't want the secession clause? you said the eastern region was the fastest growing and you wanted to share your resources with the rest of us abi. well we saw through it. so what changed? and don't use the Civil War as an excuse. why do people still keep running away from the south east. if you talk about Infrastructure, I'm sure kanu had the opportunity to help change that but his eyes never wavered from total ownership of the oil.greed and arrogance are two deadly combinations |

nku5: Wake up from your slumber, Nnamdi Kanu and Gani Adams are different people fighting different causes in different lands, although some ignorant people like to term it as "one Nigeria" Yorubas and Igbos are different people, they see things differently and how the approach matters are vastly different. An example is Gani Adams, there is no equivalent to 'Aare Ona kakanfo' in Igbo land and the closest anyone has got to even having such a title was the 'Eze Igbo gburu gburu' held by Ojukwu. |

jollymizzle: You are too biased. Nobody is competing with your tribe just relax. You alleged Igbos have been trying to dominate you and I have facts to back up the fact that the Eastern region did not need to struggle with you or anybody for dominance. We were already balling. Not sentiment facts. For example: "In 1964 the World Bank named Eastern Nigeria the fastest growing regional economy on earth. At the time of this assessment, Eastern Nigeria was made up of the present five states of the South East, plus four out of the present six states of the South South. Reason for the assessment was that in 1964, Nigeria was the world’s largest producer and exporter of palm oil and palm kernel. Above 90 per cent of the palm oil and palm kernel came from Eastern Nigeria. Nigeria was the world’s largest producer of cassava. Above 60 per cent of Nigeria’s cassava was produced in Eastern Nigeria. By 1964, garri, yam and palm oil from Eastern Nigeria were sold in South Africa, Great Britain and the United States. Coal mining had reached commercial production and Eastern Nigeria had started making money from Nigeria’s coal export. By 1964 the Eastern Nigeria Development Corporation (ENDC) was Eastern Nigeria’s next highest employer of labour after the regional government itself; producing high quality garri, rice, vegetable oil, fresh eggs, frozen fish, frozen chicken, frozen beef, frozen pork and pork sausages, for domestic distribution and export" http://afamnnaji.com/articles/article_detail.php?article=125&title=In-1964-the-World-Bank-named-Eastern-Nigeria-the-fastest-growing-regional-economy-on-earth http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/34a/055.html Another example: Our housing masterplan was second to none. We had big plans for housing. Read... http://www.fmbn.gov.ng/doc/CorporateHistory.html Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) was established in 1956, known then as the Nigerian Building Society (NBS), a joint venture of the Commonwealth Development Corporation and the Federal and Eastern Governments of Nigeria. Following the introduction of the Indigenization Policy, the Federal Government, by Indigenization Act [1973], acquired the NBS and consequently renamed it the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN). |

zendy: Nobody is arguing with you about anything. Gani used violence while Kanu did not. But they are similar in every aspect besides that fact. 1. Both ethnic champions 2. Both broke away from their parent organisations and formed their own ethnic group organisations 3. Both advocated for secession and seperate countries |
Re: Between Gani Adams And Nnamdi Kanu by zendy: 3:08pm On Jan 14, 2018 |
Comparing Kanu and Adams is like comparing apples and oranges. What both were fighting for is vastly different. Gani Adams is no freedom fighter, he is just someone who was fighting for the interest of his ethnic group inside a united Nigeria Nnamdi Kanu was fighting for the freedom of his people from Nigeria Kanu and Adams are two men running in separate events. There is point comparing both men |

magoo10: He did it foolishly. If he had done it well, the entire south masses would have backed him up. It got so bad that his followers started insulting everybody. It got so bad that his followers saw their own blood as enemies just because divergent views. I was raving mad that a bastard created a thread and called Stephanie okereke a prostitute because her husband said something against biafra. No, it is not done. You guys caused your own downfall and Nigeria lost a rare chance for the masses to revolution. Even the US needs allies, not to talk of small unknown biafra. Who creating enemies. The worse is that you go about lumping people into biafra WITHOUT consulting them. How is benue, kogi, Akwa ibom and others u lumped into that stupid map, without consulting them, biafra? Where is the respect? Would igbos take same if it were done to them? The Federal government too advantage of the loop holes Nnamdi Kanu / biafra created to silence him. I just hope they have not killed him. And on second thought, I think dude was handsomely paid off... Otherwise his wife will be screaming up till now. Igbo are their own enemies, from their leaders to their people. They always to egocentric and think they can do it alone. Who told you Nigerians are happy with the way things are. But when you come with your supposed solution to their problem as though you want to capture slaves, you expect them to follow you? Joker |
Re: Between Gani Adams And Nnamdi Kanu by zendy: 3:17pm On Jan 14, 2018 |
nku5: I dont know about Gani Adams but Nnamdi Kanu was not an ethnic champion and neither was he a secessionist. The Biafra cause that Kanu championed included several ethic groups such as Ibibio, Ijaw, Ogoni, Igbo, Ogoja amongst others. So which one was Kanu championing. Another thing is that Kanu cannot be called a secessionist as he did not declare a separate country. What Kanu wanted was referendum |
Re: Between Gani Adams And Nnamdi Kanu by jollymizzle(m): 3:18pm On Jan 14, 2018 |
nku5:Why are you digressing, i stated that kanu should not have tried to take the Niger delta out of nigeria. if you were the hausa/fulani wouldn't you have resisted such a move too. the Niger delta was of course of course not going to buy your 'we are brothers' campaign to swallow them up in an igbo dominated country that's why kanu failed. he didn't want to secede with igbos alone he wanted the oil. just like ZIK wanted Nigeria for the igbos to roam free and do business that he opposed a secession clause. it was basically the same plan with slightly different factors. if anyone else attempts what kanu did, that person will still fail |

futurism:in life there is always a room for amendment's nobody is perfect ,in this life no matter how good you try people will always talk you down,Nigerians are not the kind of people you speak to with bedroom voice if you need a change, it has been tried over and over but failed which is why most leaders take advantage to rape the common man. as for the spirit it is not dead . I also hope he is not dead but I believe that in life when the tempo gets tough you retreat to fight another day. So many things happened prior to his dissapearing that ordinary minds cannot understand, nnamdi KANU is also playing a psychological warfare. Nnamdi KANU faught a good fight especially without shooting a single bullet,no matter what you think he is a hero to many especially when a lot he said is manifesting and will continue to manifest. Biafra lives on |
