you must be kidding. snake's skin is as tough as leather. a chickens breakable beak can only scratch it but can't inflict any injury.

i agree with you that hens with chicks are vicious...but that's just it. vicious with no physical strength. chickens are chickens.

You sure don't know much about the long past battle for supremacy btw 'Aves' and 'reptiles'. Raptor Aves (Carnivorous birds) are known to be natural predators to reptiles. This snake was even lucky it wasn't a raptor bird (Hawk, Eagle, Falcon, owl etc..) else, it'd been a meal. Domestic fowls don't naturally hunt snakes but, would battle them for supremacy and space.

It does not correlate to killing a snake. I say this as someone who has chickens and hens as pets for 11 years They cannot kill snakes. Rather, it is the opposite. Snakes will kill the hen, eat her chicks and the eggs. At most, the hen will fight, but cannot kill the snake. Even if the hen is a "bush hen"
